I am a believer of Christ and a born again Christian though i sin and i believe there's no one without sin, however my major concern is how to use my Bible, each time i want to read the Holy Book it's as if i am reading story or let me say i don't know how to pray with the Bible. I will appreciate any good suggestions on how to be closer to God and use my Bible properly because right now my bible is lying idle.

The best Person to learn how to pray from is the Prayer Master Himself.

So study how the Master Jesus did it, and emulate Him.

Studying His Words, keeping It and also making It to shape your orientation would also significantly help.

Trust me, when it comes to prayer, nobody does it better than the Master.

Luke 6:12 (KJV)

And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Luke 6:18-19 (KJV)

And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.
And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

God bless.

Prayer is like making a Call, therefore is it Written "Call on The Lord".

The Bible is only Man's Manual Given By God.
Like you study the manuals of devices and equipments, so also is the Bible to you.

You are not supposed to be praying "using" it, you can do that on your own.

Jesus Christ taught His disciples how to pray. He taught them the Lord's prayer. In these times, many so-called pastors have instead taken to teaching folks that this prayer is instead a "model'" prayer, a template on how to pray but the truth is, it is Jesus Christ never told His disciples any such lie. He taught it to them as how to pray.

Did you know that praying the Lord's prayer is akin to obeying Jesus Christ's commandment? And Jesus Christ did say, that those who obey Him are those who being to Him.

The motive behind most prayers is selfish, so in that case many think God should respond to the desires of their hearts immediately. But God's only begotten Son taught us to put some things ahead of when thinking of prayer!

®God is the father of all so do not curse anyone not even the person you feel/know hates you!

® God's name should be Sanctified~ this means we must always work towards how to hallow God's name in whatever we do, so before praying ask yourself "what is the name of the God i want to approach in prayer?"

® God's Kingdom to come~ this means you should always make your plans align with God's government in mind, human government will disappoint you, so keep your mind focused on God's government.

® God's will should be done~ are you always thinking about God's judicial decisions or you often put your personal interest ahead of what you know God says?

® Now is the time to pray for your needs not wants, this means think of your daily needs not greedily storing up what you're not even sure you'll be alive the next day to eat out of it!

® Stop harboring resentment against your fellowman, you're a sinner who supposed not to live, so if you forgive others you're telling God you also want to be forgiven.
