Yes it is true that if a group is seeking independence or freedom, it can either choose to take up arms or join the political process and use political power to seek freedom. IPOB has no intention of fighting any war or joining the political process of Nigeria. The reason is simple. It is totally pointless for IPOB to join the political process, Nigeria is not yet that politically mature. Even if IPOB joined the corrupt political process of Nigeria, managed to win majority of the elective positions in the areas that they want independence for, they will still have to go to the Nigerian national assembly, where other zones will be waiting for them, to move some kind of motion for referendum or secession and they do not have the numbers to do that because it will require 67% or two thirds of the national assembly to pass such motion. That is simply impossible. Anyone asking IPOB to join the political process in Nigeria is either ignorant or being mischievous

So what should IPOB do? They can do the only thing they can do, keep agitating for a referendum even if takes 200 years. Keep up the pressure on the authorities no matter how long it takes. As an Igbo man, I want the Igbo nation to have its independence. Slowly but surely, we sre getting there.
