Akwa Ibom State Government Posts Highest Debts In State's History by Nobody: 12:18am On Oct 26, 2020
Immediately after inauguration in 2015, the Akwa Ibom State Government (AKSG) craftily took to propaganda, accusing Sen. Akpabio of having left behind a debt profile so massive and impossible for his successor to handle.
Government blamed its poor performance on paucity of funds, claiming that accruing revenue had to be mostly used for debt settlement. But, that wasn't the case.
As the propaganda fog gathered, Sen. Akpabio came out to tell the truth, which is that he left behind less than N60 billion of unpaid debt.
Given all the massive infrastructure and other development projects embarked upon by then Gov. Akpabio's administration, the State managed to keep a very low and justified debt profile.
Five and a half years after Gov. Godswill Akpabio, Akwa Ibom State is posting the second highest debt profile in the nation, having indulged a borrowing spree like never before.
Shrouded in secrecy and capriciousness, it appears that there are widespread due process violations with regards to how the loans are obtained and used. In some cases, impunity is elevated over the peoples' outrage; government simply does whatever it feels like doing.
Even before Akwa Ibom State was relegated into receiving the second highest statutory revenue in Nigeria, gross dysfunction became the new normal since 2015. Government has demonstrated no capacity for proper utilization and management of the loans.
Now, Akwa Ibom State ranks in the worst bracket for HIV/AIDS prevalence rate, unemployment rate, school children drop out rate, debt profile, etc.
These are not good reports with which to mark the 33rd anniversary of Akwa Ibom State, especially with expected economic fallouts from the COVID 19 pandemic.

your stupidity made you fail to recognize that this is a clear propaganda that even a day old toddler can easily spot.
You need a change of brain.
