Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Kemo88: 6:05am On Oct 26, 2020
It’s not? Even online? I thought they announced 2weeks ago that it was open. I thought they said you can apply but it won’t be prioritized like those with family. I know there is a travel restriction but I thought since I’m staying april/May 2021 as time of travel the restriction may have been lifted by then

Hello FYsol,

I think your number 1 response is quite misleading. Getting a visa for vacation/tourist purpose is actually very easy. It becomes more completed and difficult when you start using conferences and exploratory purposes. The western world recognizes the need for vacation at least once every year. So after working hard for the whole year, it is very necessary to take some time off and relax yourself and most times, you may wish to travel very far to somewhere you have not even been before to experience new things.

So my advise is that the person should proceed with tourist/vacation visa. Package yourself very well and ensure you have booked your hotel and also state clearly your itinerary while in Canada.

All the best

FYsol:
My suggestions to the 4 questions;

1. Canada dont usually buy holidays stories considering the distance that doesn't mean people dont get it when they state vacation as reason for trip but success rate is low. I will advice you look for a conference relevant to your current employment.

2. Your chances of getting the visa is 97% not because of plenty other countries you've been to but because you've been to Canada before and spent just 10days. Perfect record

3. Leaving family behind serves as a strong tie. Regarding how much you would need, just make sure it is in excess of what you will need for the trip. Avoid lump deposit

4. Currently average processing time is 234 days so apply now.

Just get your itenerary plan, letter of intent and statement of purpose well packaged.... Your family in Nigeria are good ties, and 30m for a closing balance seems solid. And yes, you can apply now, online only tho'

Just has @uzomacl has rightly advised that a well planned out and genuine tourist/visitor visa application stands a chance of being approved. May next year isn't a bad idea for such a great profile.

For those looking to submit passport after approval and passport request, VFS Nigeria is now accepting passports but only by courier.

My only addition is that if you have N30m in your bank be ready for some scrutiny; they might ask for a one-year bank statement.

Best of luck.

Like I stated it was just a suggestion. In Jan. 2019 I applied for vacation and was refused in February. In March I was advised to change the purpose of trip to exploratory visit in Saskatoon where exploratory visit is mandatory for SINP and after 4 Months long wait it was approved.

I was only speaking based personal experience.

Your personal experience is extremely helpful however it isn't applicable in all cases. I believe each application is treated with their specific.

100CAD for application fee and 85CAD for biometric

Also, any ideas how much application fees for tourist visa is. [/quote]

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by TheExalted: 9:06am On Oct 27, 2020
Hello gurus in the house,

A friend has a visa to UK but has applied for tourist visa to Canada, did biometrics already. He is planning to travel to UK soon. If he was asked to submit his passport, is it possible to submit it in UK or has to come back to Nigeria?

Urgent please! Thank you!
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by uzomacl(m): 10:37am On Oct 27, 2020
I am sure your mate can submit his passport in the UK. It will be accepted and stamped at any Canadian Embassy around the world so far his TRV was approved and they have requested for his passport

Good day everyone. Please I need your advice on this.
I have a Master's degree, I've seen 2 universities to send my application to for a PhD program with research funding about $24,000. Now, I'm married with a baby, my wife is scared of her chances of joining me. I told her she can apply for visiting visa after I've arrived Canada. I know I'm definitely going to indicate her and my baby when processing my visa... She's a staff of an indigenous bank in Nigeria. I'm just 30 years.

Is it possible my wife and baby can join me in Canada within 6 to 9 months of my arrival? I don't want to leave my family longer than that period. please gurus in the house kindly attend to my question and educate me. We don't have any travel history.

Quite possible.
Get her to apply for OWP( open work permit) as soon as you get your study permit approved.
You can even take a risk while all of you apply at the same time together.
Cheers.

Brother,

You have (1) Masters and (2) Age on your side (30).

I will advice you both do ECA, IELTS & put in for Express Entry.

With EE, your family would all be PR in max 18 months time (with benefits) rather than study route that (1) you have not gotten the study permit , (2) she gets visitors visa ( 50/50), (3) you are still visitors in the country, you now need to apply for PR under CEC. By that time, you have spent time and much money staying as visitors in the Country.

Well, if you have enough financial resources, then you can go ahead and do PHD + PR(CEC).

Regards.

Easily? Are you sure? A mother being invited by her child on a tourist visa or a sibling inviting sibling which is seen as family reunion which Canada gives lots of regards cannot be compared or have same approval chances to someone who just want to travel on a personal leisure trip. The purpose of this thread is to guide ourselves on what will enhance our best chances. I am of the opinion purpose of travel must be logical.
