New Scamming Skill : How I Was Almost Scammed Today by AMZYMAYO(m): 12:09pm On Oct 27, 2020
I will just go straight to the point.

Had my goods listed on Jiji for bed sheets and adult toys. Got a call this morning, and the man said they would be interested in getting bed sheets for their serviced apartments.

We agreed on us meeting and inspecting on the sheets and duvets. After some seconds, he said he has a problem and will need my help.

He told me that they usually get chrome additives (German type) to protect pipes and other stuffs from corroding. And the owner (Alhaji Usman Galadima) is suspecting him of adding price. So he needs a middleman to call the Alhaji and give him the price. He said he normally realize 45,000 (selling price was 145,000 and the price he gets from Alhaji is 185,000). He said after deducting transportation cost and other expenses, we will share the remaining equally.

On hearing that, I was as alert as a soldier deployed to Sambisa forest. I was so happy, calculating at least 700k to 1 million. Was thanking my God for the opportunity already.

After some minutes, I got a text message of the supplier in Lagos. I called him, we spoke about the additive. He said the final price was 150k per gallon. (earlier the man told me they would be needing 50 gallons). I tried negotiating to 145k but he refused.

Ended the call, called the man (Mr. Mike 09017554303) back. Told him the new price. He said he would send the Alhaji's number to me so I can negotiate with him. He said I should tell him 200k per gallon because he would still negotiate. And I should peg the price at 195k.

Called the Alhaji Usman (09046851839) and he agreed to pay 195k per gallon plus he would get 16 bed sheets and duvet from me (I was grinning from side to side oo). But he said he would need a sample to confirm the originality of the product.

I ended the call and call Mr Mike back. He said I should discuss with Mr. Festus (the seller) that he should give me 1 gallon. He said I should tell him Alhaji Abubakar Attah (the seller's long term customer who happened to be sick and in the USA) is the owner. I called the seller and I told him as Mr. Mike explained. He said I would get the sample in my address in Ibadan. But I'll still have to drop some amount. At this point I know they are scammers. Just decided to play along.

I asked the seller what the amount would be but he refused calling a specific amount. I told him I didn't have any money on me. So he hanged up.

Still catching more cruise, I decided to call Mr Mike. I explained all to him. He said I should find him about 20k.

That was when I rained heavy curses on his generation. grin grin

So guys, be careful out there. Scammers are on the lose, looking for different means to scam innocent, hard-working citizens. Wear your thinking cap all the time. If a deal is too good to be true, maybe it is a fraud.

It isn't actually new.

Only the avaricious ones falls for it just because of the mirage gain stated to be involved; alas it will eventually end in premium tears.

Let everyone be at alert cos they've got enough tactics to lure their prey.
BE WISE.

OP be contented.
Let all business deal be about what you do alone.
Deviate not.

God bless you for this narrative of your experience. I can see that this was last year 2020.

This was exactly how they have been playing me since yesternight till this morning. I won't lie, I was also happy about it in the first place. What saved me that gave me the sense of doubt was Truecaller.

Apparently someone somewhere have fell victim of this before and used Scammer as the first name with the other names they called themselves.

I paused a bit when I was about to dial the phone number which brought out Scammer Alhaji....

Before i continue, after sharing a bit of my experience here, I will put down all the phone nos and names so that anyone who's about to be scammed or also sceptical about this game and also have that thought of searching through google, they can have a nairaland page/link for their answers.

So to my real story, although I have called one of them who we have both been discussing. To cut the long story short, once again, the narrative above was exactly what was used for me but the differences were the phone numbers, names and figures of the prices.

Now the phone numbers are 07046566510, 08126730737, 07012805144, 09095872981. But mind you these people can also have that sense of Google searching there phone numbers to detect if its tagged as scam which they can easily change. (just saying though)

The names used are:
1. Engr. Wale ( who first called me for a project)
2. Mrs Bola ( the client who needed my service)
3. Pastor Peter ( who sells the Germany product)
4. Alhaji Usman Galadima (this was the name that appeared to me via truecaller and tagged as scammer when I was about to call the next person because I missed the call and I was thinking it was the Hausa man they told me he's their boss who's in charge of the work)

Now I tend to remember something. Engr. Wale called me and said Mrs Bola who lives in gbagada needed my service for a project in Apata, Ibadan. Mrs Bola said "oh! no, not apata, sorry that was a mistake. The project is at nnpc at sagamu road". After completion and job well done, the rest in Ajah will be awarded to me. That sounds suspicious.

One of their tactics, they won't call you much. You will be the one to be making most of the calls. So everyone, Beware!!!

I won't raise any curse on them, what i will do is what ive done. By shedding more light online.

Everyday for the thief....

Thank you for this update.
They called my sister some minute ago. Thank God she called me to explain the chrome addictive. I decided to check Google for the meaning and the uses and later I found out that's their new means of scamming people.
Please let's share and tell people to be aware for those people that are into e-commerce.
