Would you want to work with such a disloyal person as your assistant that could brief against you to the squad or board anytime there is uneasiness with some players, especially someone with eyes on the managers job. Managers are big on loyalty, especially Mourinho and sack their assistants all the time if the assistant doesn't tow the managers line with the players or question the manager. Some assistants with loose lips even leak tactical info to their mates in other clubs.

I think he fears that Kante can't dictate the pace of play as a lone DM as much a he would like. And Jorginho that can dictate the pace of play, cannot shield the defence properly as a lone DM.

That's why he wanted Rice badly. That's also why I feel he should've kept Ampadu.

Like the major complaint wasn't starting Mount at LW even when we had fit wingers. Even when Cobhams Asuquo can see that Mount is clearly not a winger.
