Auto rickshaw riders don't make N7,000 daily. In case you don't know what auto rickshaw is, it means "keke napep" in Nigeria. Before I started this business, I had gone to several parks to ask some keke riders how much they make daily and they could not give account of how much they make (what a shame). I have done this business personally and driven for some months now. You will make N3,200 daily from keke napep business (from 6:30 a.m - 7:59 p.m) - That N3,200 is before removing the money for petrol, daily revenue and any other miscellenous. Let's assume no customer calls you on phone to carry them as drop, enter the highway/express or do any special runs

I will not mention engine oil which is N4,000 and mechanic, because this does not happen everyday... I will not go there. During the rainy season there are many black days when you spend N2,000 on your keke napep and have to go home with gain of just N1,000 - For avoidance of doubt this N2,000 includes petrol, mechanic and daily revenue. And for somebody like me that cannot even unscrew my keke napep's tires (I am not lying), it is my fellow riders that help me to carry out minor repairs on my keke paper during the rainy season. They always collect N400 or N500 for the minor repairs. Last time my fellow riders changed the shoe brake and clutch cable for me

There is also this fake news (or rumour), that keke napep does not consume petrol and that you can use it for 3 days without buying fuel which is a very big lie. In a day you will buy petrol of N1,000 if you want to work from 6:30 a.m to 7:59 p.m. I am being lenient by saying N1,000, assuming you are the type that does not carry drop or drive long distances... I would have said N1,500. When I started this business, I thought I had struck a goldmine because of all the misinformation and the lies

I also thought I had struck a gold mine because my family bought the keke napep for me, so I was not going to be balancing anybody. Before some people come out and say they are keke riders too, just to fool me - It depends on what route you are working on. I am only sharing my personal experience and how much I make daily on average (6:30 a.m - 7:59 p.m). It must be noted that I carefully handpicked the park that I am currently working in. I asked so many people which park they think is busy, has few keke riders and has a reasonable amount of customers/traffic

True talk. It's funny how okada riders are not always portrayed as successful business men. Okada has 2 seats sha, while keke has 5

It still depends on the route you ply and other side attractions like school drops on contract, doing night services (you must be popular with neighbourhood police) and normal charter (drop).

The ones I know brings back 3-4k daily , after all revenue, fuel and food have been expended. That's about 90k - 120k a month but the civil servant next door with 40k a month still lives and dresses better than the keke man

1. Have you driven keke napep before?
2. Please do you have any screenshots of your earnings?
3. And fuel is expensive @ ₦161

UPDATED: It may depend on the route. Like I have gone to some keke parks that are very busy but they refused to accept me because they are "already complete". Personally I think they are doing tribalism and godfatherism; it's not because they are too many. I have never worked in such parks before and some keke drivers themselves cannot give account of how much they make, so I will still go with the N3,200 daily stuff

1. No but I have lived among them, and man, they can talk
2. The only record they keep is the weekly contributions
3. I still don't understand this fuel logic, fuel was N145 and transport was N50, they added N16 per litre and you increase transport by N20 - N50 per passenger, that means you are getting extra on each passenger, you should be the one gaining
