Absolutely! Thanks for the info.

Yes at EMU, you can be admitted into undergrad with HND, unless you have postgraduate diploma with your HND.

The level you will start with is based on your transcript. As a rule at EMU; transfer students must spend atleast 3 semester at EMU irrespective of which degree/diploma or levels you are coming from.

If you apply as a transfer student:

—-the courses you have taken will be matched with the courses we offer

——grades you obtained in each course will be matched

—-credit hours of each course will be matched. Example; if you had taken banking insurance course tag BIC305 and the credit in your school for this course is 2 credits and you scored less say C... if we have this course at EMU and the credit is 4; such course is likely not going to be transferred due to mismatch credits ... if you get A grade and credit is closer done other related course will be added to uplift it for it to be transferred.

In summary; in business undergraduate program we have like 45-48 courses which is divided into 5-6 courses per semester making total of 8 semesters for a 4-year undergrad program.

If only 25 courses are transferred for you from your transcript; then you will be left with about 13 courses which means 2 semesters, but the rule says you can’t spend just two semesters atleast 3; then you will need to take some extra courses to balance it.

I hope this is clear.

Welcome to EMU...it’s easy to settle down anyway, go ahead to the uni go complete your registration if you have not done that. Classes started and we have like 4 weeks and 4 days to mid-exam.

When you enter the uni you will find some newer students also although due to corona almost all people are hideout ...

What department are you and level?

Notice for upcoming Drug Dealers and Yahoo/Cyber Criminals

Cyprus is mainly for studies, the environment is relatively peaceful and nice for those coming for studies. Some fraudulent Africans always spoil the image of their countries due to their greed and illegal ways of life. This often leads to the host community to develop hatred, racist acts, and single-out nationals polluting their environment with drugs and cybercrimes.

Please just stop.....the prison in Cyprus is not friendly and why would you want to create a bad image for others due to your greed?

Hello house, I have few questions, Whats the posibility of nationalizing in TRNC after Studying?

Take note we have two countries: One is Cyprus (South Cyprus) and the second is TRNC (North Cyprus). For either SC or TRNC, you can get the citizenships through:

---Naturalization based on years of residence
---Marriage to Cypriot
---Investment Programme

Naturalization based on years of residence

If you have lived in S.Cyprus with a Temporary Residence Permit (applicable to students) for at least 5 years, during which time you did not leave Cyprus for longer than three months. You must have a work contract that’s either open-duration or for a minimum of 18 months before you apply for a permanent residency; then you become eligible to apply for Cypriot citizenship once you have lived in Cyprus for at least seven out of ten years, and you have a clean criminal record. For TRNC; you must have worked with a legal work permit for at least 6 years, then you can apply for a white card (permanent) and after 2-3 years you can apply for the passport.

Investment Programme

If you purchase property in Cyprus at the value of at least €300,000 in SC (recently terminated due to many criminals getting EU passport via this you may watch Aljazeera video on that). While for TRNC around €150,000 and living for some years.

Marriage to Cypriot

This is applicable to either TRNC or SC; you can submit the citizenship application after you have completed three years of marriage and two years of residence in Cyprus prior to the date of application.

is it easy to acquire their passport?
Above listed are the conditions to get the passport grin

Are other countries embassy in TRNC?
Yes, you can apply for 15 countries visas from TRNC like USA, UK, Italy, Denmark, Norway, Germany, etc while for others you can go to Turkey or if you have access to go to SC.

Can one marry their local?
Yes, it's common with SC, from what have seen they will rather go for the person coming from more developed nations (just my observation) but generally they marry foreigners. For TRNC; similar, however, the population of TRNC Cypriot is lower and the majority prefer marrying themselves. Three of my Ph.D. students which are TRNC Cypriots married foreigners (Mexican, black American, and Spanish).
Are they Racist, Do they marry black guys?
Racism is everywhere in different forms and categories, just like for those in Nigeria; how the Ibos will not marry Yorubas and Hausa will not marry ibos and vice versa. How, Nigerians are quick to say I am Yoruba or I am Igbo even if one person commits a crime they quickly call the tribe instead of calling that the person is Nigerian. The same way some African Christians will not even date a Muslim while some traditionalists will not even date the churchgoers. The same way some black Americans are killed or rejected by White American or the same way South Africans will burn the house of Nigerians... All are forms of racism and yes, you can experience it based on your nationality, color, accent, etc. So what is common in Cyprus is favoritism, as a Cypriot you likely going to be attended to first or than foreigners depending on where the foreigners come from. I have experienced racism in Cyprus, the USA, UK, and Ireland, and even Brazil so it's a global trend...the degree just differs.

Another subtle racism I have seen is where the foreigners are coming from. In some years ago; I want to invest in some nice properties in TRNC, the developer wants me to pay half of the money before development and said most of their clients get a mortgage (loan) on that resort from local banks. The local bank approved me and my other biz partners because we have international passports from some of the developed countries they only approve. Meaning, I checked the list of passport holders from Nigeria and nearly all Africans are not approved. I asked why they don't give they said because it is so difficult to trace people from there and they have no direct relation with those countries risk accessors bla bla.....told me I got what I needed but it sounds racist act to me since I have multiple passports so I got the mortgage. Anyway; each country has its own rules and ways.

Any police brutality recorded on blacks? I need answers please. God bless us
Currently they don't have SARS, the police hardly carry guns, I think hardly demand a bribe and I have lived for years in Cyprus and have access to both TRNC and SC; I can say the police are normal if you are not a criminal. It's hard for police to just stop you on the road (have never been stopped anyway) start brutalizing you. Although some have experienced some bad things from the police so I can't say 100% they are okay. But I have never heard in 20 years that their police just wake up one day and shoot innocent residents.

What I have noticed is that the traffic police have brought tickets for my Ph.D. students and he never owns a car. They billed him around 5000 TL for accumulated bills; he went there and they asked him to pay he told them he never drive in Cyprus before; they show his name on their system; it the same names as his but the person that committed actually different location and different passport number; they let go after clarification. Some may not be clarified and have heard this sometimes.

In TRNC; the police will prefer to protect a Cypriot rather than a foreigner which I know; their few cases of fraudulent Turkish or Cypriot landlords that cheated foreigners; when they went to the police; the police did not arrest the person they say is against their whatever law but ask the foreigners to go to court. Going to court means you spend more money. So these types of cases seem very common.

Take note: this is my personal experience, it may not be universal, it may be different from others. Also, I am a professor, have investments there and with passports from developed nations, and am black so the treatment I get may be different from another black person coming from another developing nation.

I hope this helps.

If you are very interested in Biotech, since they are not going to run it in January which likely due to number of admitted students not enough to open the program:

First option

You can select to join in May 2021 since the program will be opened by that time.

Second option

Also, I believe that you applied for the Biotech normal fast-track option! You can ask them to shift you to their Biotechnology - Advanced (Fast Track) option which seems to still be available for Jan 2021 pending the waitlist.

Third option

You may decide to take their Food Science Tech (its opened for Jan 2021) which has some similar courses with the biotech in the first semester, so after first semester you can switch back to your Biotech during Summer and get exemption of the related courses from FST.

Best wishes

I hail you boss, pls is IELTS compulsory for Nigerian students in centennial?

Very funny, Did you just ban me Mr Wip?, By telling people the reality of what to face where they are going.
However, if you re really after the achievement of the student traveling. you will tell them more.

My advice for those guys who don't have scholarship and sponsor, please I beg you in the name of God, trying to get a better grade,
then start applying for a fully-funded scholarship in developing countries, because no miracle will make you get work or to pay your
tuition fees and accommodation at the same time.

Also if you do not have IT and hotel management work experience, then prepare for hard labour job or No job, as a brother.
you will see the listed fully scholarship on youtube or you can google always

Are you alright? why on earth will I ban you?? what gives you such a glimpse that I have the power to ban you on Nairaland. I have read it like 3 times from a similar person like you pointing fingers at the WIP7 ban or deleted the post.

I really don't respond to such posts because it seems people like reactions and I have taken time to weigh who give the posts/acts and compare ..... it's like comparing sleep to death.

In scientific research: before you can authoritatively make any claim you need to have strong evidence then cite such evidence that is the difference between properly educated and poorly educated persons.

This thread will not allow False claims as I have said; if you think you are not satisfied kindly create your own thread. And to answer you please check your profile you will see NL bans you ........WIp7 don't ban or do I look like Seun Osewa?

Anybody can create a thread on NL, instead, of you claiming someone bans you, go ahead and create your thread and give all the advice in that thread, you can even pay for an advert so people can read the thread or create your own website, or newspaper or anything so people read the thread.

Please Mr/Mrs....I like to tell you; NL has a plugin called antispam; its settings can always ban anybody mostly if you copy-paste, post censored statements or your posts appears spam to the system ......

Like each country has a different rule; students submit all their original documents with universities in TRNC during registration and you can have access to it anytime in case you want to use it maybe for some applications etc. The reason for that is most of the TRNC universities have installment payment and the only way for them to ensure you pay your fees is your document. All students graduating and without any debts will have their certificates back.

If you wish to terminate your studies anytime, you can get your certificate also if you don't have debts.

I hope this clears it.

I don't know about your university you are heading to, but at EMU and in most universities; they only keep your documents like insurance, if you are not attending the school anymore and have no debt you can retrieve your documents. Also, if you are still attending the school and you need the document for something, EMU will ask you for something to replace the documents pending when you return it. This is normal there is nothing serious about this.

Also, you are going to EUL; this university is government-supported like EMU only the two government-supported universities in TRNC so relax your mind. Spend your time on the positive sides and do away with most negatives, do away with people that often bring bad news or people with too many problems because they will weigh you down with negative and blurred ideas.....successful people always see positives irrespective of the situations and plan creatively unlike noisemakers or wailers.

Your questions are specific; meaning only EUL officials that have all your details like a student reg number, application details, etc will answer these specific questions.

So, email and call EUL and get the answers. This thread is for general information. I can answer a specific question about EMU since I work there and have access to the students' details.

Thank you.

It's good to look for a greener pasture as many people call it and venture abroad. First, I will not encourage you to reduce your actual age and place the football age on your international passport. If you want to go for studies, will you now take this newly obtained age forever? or you will switch the age back again? Most of the universities abroad often add DOB to the transcript and if you wish to change this age back then it will now be an issue.

I also, understand the majority of the countries have an age limit for undergraduate as they see it as a gateway that the person is actually not coming for studies both rather for work or otherwise.

The best way is to look for countries that really don't care much about the age limit for studying purposes. Now your case seems different because you already have a family and even you want to study you will want to fend for yourself and somehow fend for your family you left. The majority of countries that official language is not English will generally have job issues that are a problem many faces in Europe since you may have to learn the local language first or learning the local language increases chances of jobs. But if I must be honest with you, no matter which country you find yourself in, if you don't have proper education with certificates, even if you get a job you will remain at those black, brown and dark deep red jobs ....those types of jobs are backbreaking and makes people get older than his/her age with surviving income.

I have met a Nigerian family man in the USA he does nearly 3 jobs while trying to legalize himself....in fact I pity him because I think he is not okay healthwise with no rest and the salary with all these 3 jobs he hardly can save 20,000$ a year which is worthless.

Can you inbox me your olevel result, let me have a look and see if I can advise further. Also, if you have a CV send along so I can have an idea of what you have been doing and don't have a bachelor's degree till this age..

Please for God sake avoid all those agents that will promise to do a package for you and give you some documents that are not your name/details and all sorts of fraudulent packages..........abroad can be hell and especially when you land with illegitimate means.

Good day Prof Wip 7, May God bless you for the wonderful job you are doing.

Sir, Please I need your advice and guidance regarding a recently published article of mine in a Journal of Environmental and Public Health (Hindawi Journal). The journal published the paper while we are in the process negotiations of the article publication fee, the fee final fee offered was $675, which we said we cannot afford at the moment due to non payment of salaries to Nigeria lecturers by the government. We made several request demanding for a reduction in the fee, but they refused.

As a matter of fact, Now they are threatening to put me in their bad debt list, if I didn't pay in the next 30 days. Which they said will prevent my paper for marketing promotion and further, will not allow me to submit paper to Hindawi Journals.

Please Sir,
1.what is bad debt list ?
2. What are the implications of entering a bad list in a journal, will that damage my academic career/reputation?
3. Please how do i recover from the bad debt list.

Please sir advice me on the way forward, what do I do now

Thank you

Good day Prof Wip 7, May God bless you for the wonderful job you are doing.

Sir, Please I need your advice and guidance regarding a recently published article of mine in a Journal of Environmental and Public Health (Hindawi Journal). The journal published the paper while we are in the process negotiations of the article publication fee, the fee final fee offered was $675, which we said we cannot afford at the moment due to non payment of salaries to Nigeria lecturers by the government. We made several request demanding for a reduction in the fee, but they refused.

Good day,

I can understand what you are going through. In a normal sense, the reputable open-access publishers should generally don't publish accepted manuscripts unless they receive the APC. For them to have published it without following that well-known or established step, means they are more of a predatory journal.

First, as I have earlier warned against publishing in this journal and my reasons are:

------I never for once pay to publish any research work (it makes no economic sense to me); rather I get paid by my university and government for publishing my hard labored results. ......You should avoid paying to publish even is 1$.

--------I don't publish in low-quality journals; I am a well-respected scientist so I don't allow low-quality and predatory journals tarnish my profile or dent my research work..........avoid such journal as wells; hence, consider doing quality work to get it published in high-quality journals.

---- I don't publish in journals without verifiable metrics; this particular journal has no impact factor and not in any well-known reputable database; so desist from such.

As a matter of fact, Now they are threatening to put me in their bad debt list, if I didn't pay in the next 30 days. Which they said will prevent my paper for marketing promotion and further, will not allow me to submit paper to Hindawi Journals.

Because; they seem to share the APC with the editor that handled and other production teams; hence, they need your money rather than the quality of your work. In most cases: the papers published in these types of predatory journals often tend to provide false and/or invented data based on research that has never been conducted; however, readers are not always aware of this. You don't need them to market your published work; if your work is quality enough with citable data; other researchers will cite your work and you will get good citations.

Please Sir,
1.what is bad debt list ?

Considering my interpretation: Bad debt list means a container of debtors for an expense that the business incurs and the payment is estimated to be uncollectible.

2. What are the implications of entering a bad list in a journal, will that damage my academic career/reputation?

The implication is likely that you may be requested to pay for your upcoming APC before processing your manuscript in that journal and also tagged to repay the earlier debt before publishing with them. Meanwhile, this only affects this publisher. I will encourage you to never publish in this type of predatory (yahoo-yahoo) journals. Consider publishing you work in subscription top-quality journals from Elsevier, Taylors, and Springer, Willey than these low-quality predators.

No, it will never damage your academic career or reputation. You have not killed someone, engage in academic dishonesty, cheated someone, fabricated data, stolen research funds, or used false research outputs, etc. Those are what damages academic profiles not bad debts from yahoo-yahoo publishers.

3. Please how do i recover from the bad debt list.

Please sir advice me on the way forward, what do I do now

Thank you

Write to them, that you expected them to receive the APC before they publish your accepted manuscript, due to the current pandemic situation your university cannot avoid funding the APC. Refer to the fact that you have requested for a high discount, however, since no discount and they published your manuscript without waiting for the APC, you don't have money to pay or you will pay in the future if your situation improves. For the time being, let them know that if the APC will not let them market your published work, that you will market it yourself.

Nothing serious. If they threaten you ....you should also threaten them. They are not doing you a favor so why threat?
