I know that the events that took place in Nigeria this October 2020 will be forever carved in the minds of Nigerians, and it has cemented its
place as one of the news that touched the whole world in 2020. They say when you push someone to the wall, one day the wall will push
you back and you will not have a choice but to fight. The special anti robbery squad known as SARS have been giving the average Nigerian
sleepless nights due to their gestapo tactics and their alleged human right abuses. Some are known for their extra judicial killings, while
some even rob our average citizens in plain site. The Nigerian Police Force has many units under its umbrella such as SARS, IRT, Mobile
Police, Spy Police and many other units, but it seems the SARS unit was bent on further damaging the image of the police force because
with all the energy the command was putting into it, to make it more effective and less threatening to all law abiding citizens the SARS unit
became worse and more volatile.

To show their anger and displeasure Nigerians came out in droves to show that enough is enough. They came out in a peaceful manner to
advocate that things had to change. Nigerians came out to say endSARS but they never said end the police or get rid of the police. Do not
forget that we are all Nigerians, and many protesters have fathers, mothers, uncles, aunties, siblings and relations who are also members of
the Nigerian Police Force. So it was initially aimed at curbing the excesses of the SARS unit.

Some people say that politicians tried to hijack the struggle but i can't say that for sure, but all i know is that those youths, mothers, fathers
and Nigerians that came out peacefully to vent their anger could not and would not burn down police station talkless of lynching policemen.
How can they peacefully vent their anger and later go around killing policeman and destroying private property.

The Lagos State NURTW has alot of questions to answer and it seems Lagosians are not asking the right questions. Who were the people
in all those videos that went viral burning police stations and maiming police officers. In each area in Lagos state members of the unions are
the king of boys of each area from the branch chairmen to the unit chairmen. In orile a unit chairman was killed by the police, so his boys
burnt the police station, killed some policemen and made away with their guns. Look at the videos circulating online you can see most of
them did not cover their face and they can easily be identified. A lot them also took their anger on the policemen because they had been
waiting for a time to pay them back for collecting their okada's, maruwa's and high collection of fees to release their buses. They say revenge
is best served cold, but they did it while it was freezing. Yes some citizens looted but the police should not take revenge or vengeance on
the innocent.

I will only ask one question, Many private cars, buildings, police station, brt buses and other public and private properties were either burnt or vandalized. How many transport buses, maruwa's or okada's were burnt or vandalized?

Yes, some units might have dis grunted elements among them but these folks prefer their daily income to any other thing.

I off recent happen to run logistic for some of their branch chairmen, and I found out that, not only are they articulate and sound in knowledge. Some masters degree holders and are making waves on a low in the union.

Please note, not all union member causes mayhem as portrayed by the media.

Get close to them, ask questions.

The manner with which BRT buses are attacked and destroyed by members of the NURTW gives cause for concern.

Take note that before this event of a few days ago, attacks were laid on BRT buses plying the Ikorodu route when in an unfortunate accident, a woman lost her life. A lot of these buses have been brazenly destroyed by the union members in Ojota axis.

One cannot but wonder what the state government is doing, or why the state government stands aloof. Ordinarily the transport sector should be handled by the state government. Many years ago in the 60's and 70's Lagos transport was primarily in the hands of government. In Lagos with the "Marcopolo" brand of buses and others, there was LMTS which eventually metarmophosed into the LSTC. Bus routes had numbers with each bus having conductors and ticket machines. Supervisors randomly got on buses along the routes to check tickets and remove passengers without tickets. Everything went well until poor management, bad handling and negligence allowed "kia kia" buses make their ways into Lagos roads in the 70s. Here we are today as the unions were allowed to totally take over.

Ex gov Ambode made the move to eliminate danfos, kekes and okadas from our roads, but those who thought he was taking away their sources of income removed him.

Everyday these danfos, okadas and kekes device more wicked ideas. I am of the belief that the magnitude of destruction in Oyingbo and Yaba on BRT buses could only be inflicted by a competitor. The lesser the BRT buses and police men on the roads, the higher the amounts charged by the unions and more harm to the citizens.

Ambode had a plan to get the union members to participate by using the buses as seed capital to get buses from government and then pay the full cost instalmentally. That was a great idea, if complemented with the rail network, would have given Lagos a better outlook and modernised the city.

Unfortunately successive governors in Lagos have not summoned the political will to deal with the NURTW thugs and get them to pay for the destroyed buses. Cumulatively the buses destroyed in Lagos cost N3.2b. Those who suffer it are innocent Lagosians.

The governor must wake to his responsibility of protecting the state's assets in Lagos, ensuring that those who wilfully damage the assets must pay.

Who said anything about Tinubu? The Lagos NURTW has other factions who are not loyal to Mc Oluomo the current Lagos state Nurtw chairman. Their are other splinter groups who feel they have been sidelined since the emergence of Mc Oluomo as chairman. The previous Nurtw chairman Agbede is not happy and even Aregbesola's candidate for the chairmanship Olohunwa who was Nurtw chairman when fashola was governor is also not happy. Many of these men went on a free for all, to not only embarrass Asiwaju but to show that Mc Oluomo is not fully in control. All the areas you had people killing police officers and people burning police stations were their territories. Their is alot not being told.
