I recall the part where the pilot had to make a personal sacrifice to save his passengers and lost his life in the process.
One reality is that Arabs will hardly do much to assist anyone who is black. Delaying that flight when they knew that the weather will get bad and only permitting them to take off during bad weather shows how they see people with dark skin, they don't care nor see the passengers as human beings who deserves protection, for them it's all about paying the extra charges
Knew the late Capt Amaechi. Very fine gentleman. May his soul rest in peace

Capt. Amaechi was a close family friend. I didn't get to know him in person because I was still a kid when the incident happened. But my parents talked so much about him. He played a pivotal role in their wedding. (My dad was an Aircraft Engineer, by the way). As I saw this headline, Tanmaraset Algeria came to my mind. It was always mentioned in my home by my mum. We still have his pictures in our family album. May the gentle souls of the crew as well as the departed players rest in the bossom of the almighty.

It is an avoidable crash if not for the greediness on the part of the pilot who was bend to buy a cheaper fuel at the neighbouring country to save the cost from where the plane took off. RIP to the dead. A lesson to all to learn.

His greed caused the crash. So what sacrifice are u talking of?

It's so easy to blame the late pilot. Didn't you read that they were kind of cash strapped as they couldn't foot their landing and parking fees? So it would make more sense they save the scarce resources they had by going to a nearby airport to get cheaper fuel. What's wrong in going to a nearby airport to get fuel? Lots of airlines take routes that help to save fuel as well as get them at a cheaper cost. If the weather was perfect, it would have been a normal routine or procedure. You also blame the Algerian airport officials for holding them up due to parking fees because if they weren't delayed, they would have probably beaten the weather.
