Another oil leak, the third in six months, has discharged a yet-to-be-ascertained volume of crude oil polluting the Okpoama community and its environs in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa. The leak reportedly occurred on Oct. 28 on the 50-year-old Ogoda-Brass crude pipeline belonging to the Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC) near the oil firm’s crude export terminal. Chief Inikio Sele-D, Chairman of Okpoama Kingdom Chiefs’ Council, had earlier the told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that two oil leaks were reported on May 12 and on Oct 8.
