joviegghead:Recap. Joviegghead: Our attackers have been poor at finishing chances. Godx: Not true. Messi is our only attacker who has been very poor at finishing this season shown by his numerous shots with 0 end product in terms of goals from open play so far. I even went further to show you it didn't just start this season but since January he has been struggling in that aspect. Then you resulted to typing completely out of point. Joviegghead: *Messi drops deep. *He has been involved in our goals *Dembele has poor decision making *Other attackers need to step up *Our defense is not good. If lenglet makes a mistake you will blame Messi. * He should go to Man City Nothing more to add then you resulted to insults and name calling (Mumu/Dumbass). Ok bro. |

Godx:You just don't get it, do you? Our attackers; Messi, Dembele, Fati, Griezman, Coutinho, Trincao, Pedri have all been wasteful this season. I might excuse Fati because he's young but 5 Goals out of 8 games which is fairly good. And Braithwaite because he has not had many games. Messi has played 12 seasons for Barca, And Barca has played 8 matches this season, And at least 10 out of those 12 seasons he'd be having nothing less than 6 Goals already after 8 matches. We've played 8 games already and what do we have? Fati 5 goals. Dembele 2 goals. Griezman 1 goal. Coutinho 2 goals. Pedri 0 goal. Trincao 0 goal. Is this what you call goal scoring? The Messi that you are disgracefully dragging would be having 7 Goals already after 8 games, in 10 of the last 12 seasons. Yes Messi has been poor at finishing but You can't single out Messi because what? Fati 3, Coutinho 2, Dembele 1, Griezman 1. Are these what you call productive attackers after 8 games? 8 whole games?? Is that how Messi used to do it while we were winning la liga, after la liga, after la liga? If Messi was having only 2 goals in open play out of 8 games wouldn't you still call him poor at finishing? Wouldn't you run your mouth about how he has had only 2 goals from 8 games? Walahi craze dey worry you. You said you were going to shut up, shut up already, you have become too much of an irritant. |

I've been following every reply on this post just for the fun of it. I watch almost all LA liga matches as much as I watch the premier league. I see some trying to defend Messi and some criticizing him bitterly. Someone even came up with a match in which Ronaldo tracked back and concluded Messi never does. Imagine expecting a Messi of 33yrs of age to begin tracking back. During Guardiola's time at Barca, he called Messi the best defender because of his strength and energy to track back and still do his runs and dribblings.. You guys actually think trying to dribble to open more spaces in easy? Have you ever been to training with yourself being alone with a ball to dribble past the cones? You get tired doing that let alone dribbling a skilled group of defenders coming with sliding tackles and elbows. Even players like Hazard ain't expected to track back to necessarily win the ball, but to receive the ball when won. Go to whoscored and you'll find out it's the weakness of most attackers.. Below is a screenshot of the strengths and weaknesses of the best two attackers...

Thereddevil:I never thought that in my life time i'd see somebody call out Messi for being lazy or for not tracking back at all. But It's nothing much really, just some 2 or 3 ingrates who are intellectually challenged, that's all. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Thereddevil: 4:20pm On Nov 02, 2020 |
tesppidd:Quoting Papa Buhari words "I am for nobody, I am for everybody".. Looking deep into this matter, the criticism against Messi hasn't been a candid one, because talking about tracking back, it's most attackers weakness and even when they track back, it's only to add numbers to those defending. I've seen Messi win the ball many times anytime he tracked back and he's so strong at doing that till this moment. Players like Hazard, Mata(I can't keep mentioning names) are weak at tracking back. The only reason you see Ronaldo is his own box is to defend corner kicks due to his height advantage.. And that's why he's scored an own goal in his career.. |

Thereddevil:Alaye stop typing rubbish and useless Shalayes to defend your fraud. Messi is a very lazy fool that walks around, head down especially when Barca are getting destroyed. There was a match he walked only 1 mile more than your fucking keeper Pinto ![]() |

Thereddevil:Frankly I was shocked when I read it here today "Messi doesn't track back" Seriously? I could remember not too long ago Messi even conceded a free-kick around his box after he tracked back to try to get the ball back from someone who dispossead him. |

tesppidd: ![]() I'm starting to learn to just ignore. You should too. These people will drag you to their level and beat you with experience. Just ignore. The argument I've had with someone here recently showed it's a waste of time replying critics. That was the last f*ck I gave. Ain't a f*ck anymore. They're blind to everything except their criticism. And they'll twist things to make it seem like they're wise. Nah. |

Leo Messi Stats in 2020 36 games 20 goals 18 opta assists 199 completed dribbles 1860 accurate passes 100 chances created 26 big chances created 21 tackles 101 times fouled This is player I've been Defending. Yet, someone says he's the worst out of all our attackers and does a twisted argument recap. All efforts to help him see the light failed. Fellow fans is it my fault? I dare any critic to bring out stats on any attacker or player at Barça who has done what this guy has done. I'll be waiting. |

Debroslink:Coaching Messi has to be one of the most difficult job on this earth. Just imagine we the fans far far away in Nigeria are "afraid" to criticize him, then how much more the coach that physically sees him Wahala for who be Messi Coach. |

joviegghead:Why are you talking about the whole of 2020? You better talk about the last 20 games; Don't you know Messi has not scored from open play in the last 20 games? |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by joviegghead: 5:51pm On Nov 02, 2020 |
tesppidd: ![]() That's true o. But they said he is our worst attacker since January. This stats confirms it. |

tesppidd:Tesppidd forget all these jor. He hasn't scored from open play for quite some time. Therefore he's our worst attacker, he's lazy and should be benched |

joviegghead:Let's look back at Xavi and Iniesta when they were playing. There is nothing that Xavi and Iniesta did back then that Messi isn't doing in midfield today.? Do you know that Xavi and Iniesta sometimes went 10 games without a single goal? But they were revered for their creative plays. When can't Messi be revered for his creative plays even if he isn't scoring? Is it because he has so spoilt us with creating massively as well as scoring massively? FFS this guy made 25 Goals and 20 Assists just last season! |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by joviegghead: 6:19pm On Nov 02, 2020 |
tesppidd:My dear Tessppid, He must score 40 goals a season. He must be the the chief scorer and chief creator simultaneously. If not, he's our worst player, or so they claim . This reverting to Playmaking role was what I have been trying to let one guy see. But no, according to him, all other attackers are free from blame, while our dear Messi must be given sticks for not scoring enough, in addition to his Playmaking. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by tesppidd: 6:25pm On Nov 02, 2020 |
joviegghead:Noteworthy that he's made 4 Assists alone this season. Dembele+Coutinho+Griezman+Fati have made 5. You know Joviegghead I really don't bother about those coming from Real Madrid thread. But I bother about the ones within that are calling themselves Barca fans. |
