You can only model a moving load on a beam not on a plate

errrrm you can add dynamic loading on your bridge deck. Just go to the bridge deck and apply either HA or HB

Engr Hakeem, pardon my inexperience but I would like you to clear me on something.
I want to know whether AUTOCAD is of any practical relevance when it comes to design of structures; like compared to structurally dedicated packages like staad pro etc.
I've been perfecting my proficiency in AutoCAD lately, and using 3D in AutoCAD enables you to draw structures.
But structures designed with AutoCAD,are they actually practical, and reliable enough to be used in Engineering practice? Or does staad pro exist for a reason?

Well autocad is just a software for drafting/drawing. staad pro, etabs and other analysis software exist for analysis and design.

Well it is my favourite analysis software, so I might be bias about it.

I actually like staad pro because it allows you use your intuition. You can fully release moments, partially release moments. You can tension members, or force them to behave as a compression member.
It produces good and elaborate calculations sheets.

Staad foundation is the best when it comes to foundation design.

But I prefer etabs to staad when it comes to RCC concrete design, because etabs produces more economical elements

I also found the result of staad foundation to be different from that generated by the batch design mode of staad using plates and when I modeled a beam slab raft foundation.

I wonder why the results are different. Any ideas?

I was learning it from decodebd on YouTube. But I’ve never used it for any real design yet

I am currently learning it. The modelling appears very fast. It uses almost revit structure. STAADpro is begining to take too much time for me to deliver.
