You guys look at a team of 23 players and 1 coach but all you see is 23 Messi's with Messi as coach.

My problem is not criticising Messi. Its the exemption of other attackers' poor form with silly excuses and then singling out Messi as the black sheep. Did you watch the match on DSTV? If yes, then I'm sure you also felt like attacking the commentator because he also said things similar to what people are saying here about Messi.

The only reason why many people are not saying much is because it is Messi.

He has the most shots and has the highest minutes played, yet he has one goal, which was a Pk. It means he is actually trying to score, but his shooting has been terrible. Did you see that freekick he almost sent out of the stadium during the last match?

Then let's talk about how he now makes frequent bad decisions, not passing to open players, instead he tries to dribble. Close to and inside the 18 box, if he dribbles 10 times, it will be unsuccessful at least 7 out of the 10 times. He even now loses possession more easily.

Then to the high rating he has there, dribbling counts heavily on Whoscored ratings and he still has decent dribbling stats especially at the midfield and of course he is Messi, he still does genius stuff.

If you are comfortable with this Messi, then you are an enemy to this team. We can't afford to have an out of form Messi because his teammates will always prefer to give him the ball, which makes him very important on the field. So we need him to be better than this if we really want to do well this season.
