@bold
Exactly.

There are some states know as Swing States or Toss up states. This is because they swing from democrats to republican party when voting in every election.
E.g Florida or Pennsylvania
Both states voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012 i.e democratic but in 2016 voted Trump i.e republican.

Both parties camp in these states and campaign even till election day because the states can go either way unlike solid states which traditionally vote for one party for decades
e.g California always vote democratic so Trump will see it as a waste to heavily campaign there.
And Alabama always vote republican so Biden won't bother campaigning there.
Lol, this is really funny. But I understand it better now. Person no need dey spend excess money jumping from state to state

Thanks for the explanation

Democrats don hijack one senate seat.

If Trump wins and democrats hijack the senate, by 2024, Trump go don use like 5million executive orders cos the legislative arm wont even answer him and can revisit the impeachment saga again. Both houses controlled by Democrats isnt good for him

I don't think so o. Imagine if Edo is known to always vote, say Democrates, then Republicans don't even go there to campaign, Republicans come win, Edo go suffer am na, nothing at all will be done for them.

In our own situation, the fact that every vote matters, the parties will try to appease each state with something, no matter how little or insignificant it might seem.

JUST IN: Betfair, William Hill and Bet365, three of the largest betting firms in the UK, have odds implying Trump has a 75% chance of winning the election, a sharp turnaround from earlier today.

If they take over senate, aswear people will see a better behaving Donald Trump. The guy go gentle and be a good boy. No names calling and insult cos if he do anyhow, he sees impeachment anyhow. I will like a functioning Donald Trump but well behaved in all honesty. The insults are out of this world.

Afamed:
Each state has election supervisor. And each state is independent. In Florida for Example, as soon as the votes are counted. Assuming Total votes are 3m. Democratic has 2m while Republican has 1m. The total Electoral college votes in Florida is 29. So the 29 electoral college votes go to Democratic. The 1m votes for Republican is rendered useless. It's a case of winner takes the whole electoral college votes in each state. In Pennsylvania now, the electoral college votes is 20. After, the whole votes in Pennsylvania. Any candidate between the 2 takes the whole 20 electoral college votes Same apply to 48 states in US.
However, the total Electoral college votes in US is 538. A candidate must secure 270 to be the President.
The 538 electoral college votes are shared among the 50 states in US. Based on population and other factors.
When a Candidate wins a particular state, he gets the total number of electoral college votes alloted to such state.
Just 2 states out of 50 only share the electoral college votes according to votes proportion
Please can you kindly elaborate on this?

Thanks...

Not likely. Impeachment will still be impossible. Highly popular within the republicans.
