His grandfather was a warmonger that uses religion to actualized his selfish political ambition. Sultan is a king and should be address as such.

I would have loved if he is strictly a king that represents his people irrespective of their religious status, but the way I see it, that title sultan is from an islamic background.
Do you think the sultan will be concerned about the welfare of Sokoto christians. If at all he thinks about them, he will prioritize the welfare of his fellow muslims even if they come from Edo state over the indigenous Sokoto christians.
That's why I believe that Sokoto and many of these core northern towns do not have actual traditional rulers but islamic rulers who favour muslims over non-muslims.

You did not answer my question. You suggested that Sultan attended the meeting as the leader of Muslims in Nigeria and not as a traditional ruler from Sokoto. So I asked, who represented Christians at the meeting? It is only fair that Nigerian Christians should also be represented at such a high powered meeting.

I answered your question rhetorically sir. If Christians have a well reserved titled monarch that oversees everything regardless of being catholic or other sect then you would have seen him there. Sultan is a religious leader and also a monarch.

CAN president can't be there because he is not a first class monarch. Just like Sheikh Dahiru bauchi can't be there because he is not a monarch despite his influence on Muslims.


Either way all the monarchs that are in attendance from the south ate Christians, in the absence of having a Chirstain unitary monarch they can represent the Christians.

Im telling you, our southern brothers are meek compared to the consciousness of a northerner.

I dont want to be rude but given my observation of southerners compared to arewa on political positioning, a secondary school graduate in north is at same awareness and consciousness level with a masters degree graduate southerner. Repeatedly ive seen this disparity manifest on different issues of social exchange.

Look at how long arewa continue to say 19states when talking about north, even when we know the region called north is no longer in existence. Can we say 8 states of West, counting 6 Sw and Edo and Delta? No we cannot accept that from yoruba. Why do we accept it from north?

I am sure Buhari will not invite him even though the Alaafin of Oyo is historically the most powerful king in Yorubaland. However, Ooni of Ife is symbolically the spiritual head of the Yoruba people being the lineage of founder of Yorubaland, Oduduwa. I actually love that arrangement. One possess the political or military might historically while the other has the spiritual might.
