Why can't Nigeria use it's professionals instead of paying china and other foreign companies billions of dollars in inflated cost?
Because China charges LESS than even our local construction firms.

FAR LESS.

China has achieved what we call Economies of Scale. The sheer size of their construction industry allows them to execute large projects at the cheapest costs on earth.

THAT is why every nation on earth, including the United States, Britain, Spain, Senegal, Ghana, Egypt, and India, is patronising the Chinese.

Hmmm.. Looters in ever political conner in our Obodo nigeria

Modify: sorri, but i stopped using capital "N" in writting nigeria
since i noticed it doesn't worth it..
I thought I was the only one.
nigeria has no meaning. Even those criminals bandits terrorist politicians running the government, don't even like nigeria. If they do, they'll build nigeria territory under 5 years.
But 60 year gone, nigeria can't produce common electricity or roads. Only to steal public fund they know best.

At some point we must have to put a stop to this madness if Nigeria is to survive.

These animals keeps quoting trillions with nothing to show for it.

I still see no reason why a poor country like Nigeria with an idle population will be giving contracts for road construction instead of equipping its ministry of works to mobilize its citizens to do their roads.

The ministry of works can always hire experts when needed.

This is the only way to pull out Nigerians from extreme poverty. Before the white men came to Africa that has been the way we go about our public infrastructure.

Rugaria:
As long as contracts are inflated, you will need endless trillions to do simple road jobs. It will get to a stage where the ministry's budget allocations will not be enough to do 2 or 3 roads because of over inflation of contracts. It has been said that it costs more to do a kilometer of road in Nigeria than elsewhere in the world. You would expect him to take actions to reduce the cost of road constructions but he didn't because he runs a paddy paddy ministry.. This man has failed at the power ministry, spectacularly, the same way he failed at Lagos while the press burnished his image.. Roads are bad and he has been there for 6 solid years.
Himself and Olowolafe must be having a ball in that ministry, six years of continuous looting.

Na every year them dey shut down 3MB for 'repairs'...armed robbers

When will conclude works on that road? That project has continue to appear in the budget for the past 15years or more.
