This one is tending towards being Lord Frederic Lugard of 1914 that put us in this whole shit by his so called amalgamation. Please allow those bodies to be separate cos each has it's on duties.

They are fighting for their interest, just because some of them enrolled in IPPIS and the right deductions were made, they started complaining, imagine a professor paying tax of ₦8000, and a level 08 officer paying tax of ₦8,000, that's unfair.

I think the want to use this as a basis to weaken this unions from future strikes by causing internal rancor and frictions between them. Remember the concerns of ASUU, SSANU, NAAT, NASU is not the same now and will never be the same then. therefore it will be hard for any constituents members of the new body to embatk on strike as an alternative to purnish the government without inconveniencing other other members who might not need or support the strike actions there causing disunity.

Why not merge House of Rep and the Senate.

This is going to be another avenue for future industrial actions(strike). From my little experience in the academic community,the NASU people don't give much regards to the ASUU members. They only respect ASUU members based on the fact that their promotions depend on their appraisals. It going to be an Herculean task to have all the unions under one umbrella.

Merging is not the issue here. If you like merge even politechic unions join. There will still be sub-unions. As long as FG refuse to do the right thing by honouring their agreements there is always going to be problem.


Why not merge APC and PDP since they have the same goal of moving the country forward.

How will you address a whole Professor as Mr?
This is generally not true in academia. Calling a professor or someone with a doctorate “Mr.” or “Mrs.” can be disrespectful as it does not acknowledge the years of work they have done to earn the title of “Dr.” or “Professor”.
