I'm going to give you a simple advice, what you have to do now, is to sit-up and sturdy hard so you can graduate with your set, just graduate and come out first, don't kill yourself over your CGPA.

The reason for the above advice is that, in getting a job, your experience (what you can do) gives you an 80% edge while your certificate gives you just a 20% edge. Experience matters a lot in securing a job, that's while you'll find some highly skilled illiterates securing Jobs here and there, I know a man who had 3 employment during this lockdown, they were all paying him salary pending while the lockdown will be over, he get jobs here and there, most times when he comes back from offshore, people start calling him from LinkedIn for various freelancing jobs.

He is a skilled electrical/electronics engineer.

At the end of the day what really matters to your employer is what you can do.

However with all being said, without God you can't archive anything, so always put His first while working on your dreams.

Let's do d math using a simple, and even more beneficial calculation of d CGPA, done in an arithmetic average per semester (which isn't d case used in CGPA calculations):
1.58 + 1.58 (1st yr) + 1.58 +1.58 (2nd yr) + 1.58 +1.58 (3rd yr) + 5.0 + 5.0 (4th yr) + 5.0 + 5.0 (final yr) = 29.4, then divided by 10 semesters gives u 2.94, which isn't up to 3.0
(remember d actual calculation is based on ur grades and the total units which is a more precise and rather detrimental evaluation for students.
So am sorry dude, I see no magic that can land u into a 3.5 by d end of your final yr.
I remember back then in school, there use to be a saying that if ur not in 3.0 at d end of your 3rd yr then kiss your second class upper good bye.
My advice 4 u is this... Don't give up. Second Class lower is honestly not a bad result at all. Am sure ur thinking abt d shell jobs and oil company jobs that will always ask 4 second class upper graduates b4 u can even apply but take this from sm1 that finished with a second class upper, whom also had such dreams and idea bk then in school n also has been in d labor market for 10 yrs now, such opportunity, "IN THIS COUNTRY OF OURS" without the right connection is just an empty hope. But with d right connection and even with a second class lower, d sky is ur starting point.
So I woukd advice u sit up, tell ur self u are out this time around to make A's n few B's, by hook or by crook, then meet ur course adviser to adjust your course registration in such a way that it gives u an extra yr, with that, u stand a chance of making not just a second class lower, but a second class lower with a "Class"... Am talking abt making atleast a 3.0 which will be enough for you to go for a direct masters program if d need arises.

Oga stop misinforming the guy, the fact that you couldn’t get a job despite graduating with 2nd class upper does not mean that’s what’s applicable to all. I know there are many people who have found it hard to get a job despite their good results. But it still does not mean people don’t get jobs without knowing anyone, if it is absolute like you opined, then people like us wouldn’t have a job today.

like I said, he is a skilled electrical/electronics engineer, he can fix anything that has to do with board, any form of electronics, from TV to Phone to Laptop to fan, he fixes various types of engineering equipments that has a board or electrical components, he is also good in electrical jobs like house wiring, electricity transmission e.t.c.
