Gabe427:You become a New Creation only when you in fact born of the Spirit, not before. Gabe427:You cannot be a temple of God is you are not born of the Spirit of God. You cannot force the Spirit of God into a "vessel" that is not worthy of Him. You can "invoke" other spirits to do so but not the Spirit of God. Gabe427:The Truth is simple... You don't have the Spirit of God unless you have become worthy of Him. Do not pretend you have Him when the fact is you do not. So many 100s million people in today's world do exactly that and that is the main reason why the light of Jesus Christ is not seen anywhere over the Horizons today. If you look even into your so-called church houses and Jesus Christ is nowhere to be found, why? Because many walk around today pretending they have the Spirit of God when in fact they do not. He is not something that can be hidden or made up... He is God. |

Toks2008:Not according to Jesus Christ, he is not. A "Tongue" as spoken of by Jesus Christ refers to an actual language known - a human language. Those who instead speak-in-gibberish do not speak a language but instead the repeat the gibberish syllables fed to them by the spirit they succeed in invoking. The Spirit of God is not a spirit to be invoked. |

techrola:The word of God is the confirmation. It's by faith. Just the same way we believe that anybody who has confessed Jesus is saved and we don't seek anything else to "confirm" it |
| Re: How Do I Receive The Holy Spirit? by Kobojunkiee: 10:05pm On Nov 22, 2020 |
kayuseful:On the contrary, I believe God still gives confirmation as He did in the old days. Only these days, not a lot of those who claim to be born again, have ever in fact been. When the Spirit of God descended on Jesus Christ at His baptism, the voice of God revealed Him as God's. When the Spirit of God came down on the apostles on Pentecost, the confirmation was given to each and everyone who received Him. Before Jesus Christ left the earth, His disciples were sure that they already had a place waiting for them in Heaven. All through the Gospels, we have evidence that these things are not kept from us but in fact, revealed to those who belong to Him. As a result, it is my belief that God still confirms, at least to those who are of them, their new status in Him. |

Kobojunkiee:How do you become worthy of God I what I'll ask you I missed out some part because of time but I'll say this Man was not qualified for salvation but yet We still enjoy such love from the Father Jesus came to die for our sins and released the holy spirit to as may that are willing to get it The only qualification is to believe. I mean really BELIEVE (Believe Christ is One with God who came to earth to reconcile Man to God ) Believe in his Resurrection and Death has no power over you as it was for the days of our fore father's form Adam up till Jesus finally Study not Read the scripture and I tell you you would enjoy the fullness of God which is in you |

Gabe427:Obedience is the key into the Kingdom of God. Acceptance means obedience of His commandments. No one can become a follower of Jesus Christ simply by wishing for it. Jesus required that those who choose to follow Him do the work that He commands they first do i.e. Obey that which He has stipulated. 1. Be prepared to abandon parents, brother, sister, children, spouse, in-laws, e.t.c. 2. Abandon all that you know/believe, have, and all that you are 3. Bear your own burden (not someone else's cross- not even your family's or children's) Matthew 10 vs 34-394. Become a child again in your thinking and your actions Matthew 14 vs 23-245. Be prepared to lose life(reputation, career, control, property, etc.) Matthew 16 vs 24-276. Desire above all to find and enter the Kingdom of God and also walk the path of righteousness, with God as your guide every step 7. Let go of all control you have over your life and circumstances, allowing God to take care of your every need Matthew 6 vs 25-34 Gabe427:Well, let's see. According to Jesus Christ, what you have to do in order to get the gift of Salvation is to believe in Him be baptized and eat of His body. Even if you consider it an only qualification, you still have to qualify for it, do you not? Gabe427:It is not enough to read the book, you have to comprehend what you are reading. |

Kobojunkiee:Contrary in what way(s)? However, depending on ones level of acceptance and consciousness, there are different levels of truth. Christ taught what was needed at that time to spiritually uplift humanity. |

My brother the Bible says the Devil believe so much that he trembled. you cannot believe more than the devil because he was with God physically. your victory is in your overcoming sin (not believe in God), such as lost, fornication etc. if you have a girlfriend forget it holy ghost cannot stay with you because your body is the temple of the holy ghost. mind what you watch- if u de watch BBN or American movies forget it. is hard my brother- don't play circular songs only listen to gospel music only! now you know why u don't feel the comforter. E hard men, if you know your marriage is not any time soon live your girlfriend along you will not die, don't go to parties because they will surely place circular songs. once you do this lost will die, u will begin to see every lady like your Sister, all this slay queens they will begin to smell to u no matter how they dress. more grace brother man. |

backbone503:It is contrary because Jesus Christ was clear that only those who obey Him will be born again. Suggesting instead that the Spirit of God is already a part of everyone and everything and so one need not worry contradicts the very teachings of Jesus Christ. backbone503:There are no levels of acceptance or consciousness as far as Truth is concerned. There is only one truth-- everything else is a lie. That is the simple logic. backbone503:What Jesus Christ taught is what He expects all those who follow Him to obey, even to the end of time itself. There is no future teaching to follow after that. And there is no such thing as the spiritual upliftment of humanity. Jesus Christ came for those who will choose Him and not all of humanity will. |

Kobojunkiee:Sir I'm a firm believer of the scriptures being self explanatory when you study it in context and with the wisdom of God through the holy spirit I do not contend your last point. but the first I want you to follow your own advice... Read Matthew 10 the whole chapter don't pick a part that suit your argument..... the part you quoted is nothing but reality that was the charge given to the disciples see as a believer you must be willing to loose some friends who mock you you must be willing to loose some jobs because they don't like what you stand for or conform to their own message or way of life but i tell you No man who hears the true good news of salvation and won't want to be in it. your second point I don't understand your scriptural reference help me confirm or quote it for me (thank you) lastly apply your advice again comprehend the whole chapter and don't just pick a portion what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his soul then Jesus Asked a question what can a man give for his own soul? and the answer is NOTHING Man could previously not do anything to unbind himself from sin and death since Adam Jesus Replied Peter in the part I quoted above when Petr was saying Jesus shall not suffer and die for man's sins then Jesus rebuked him and then came the verse 23- the end of that chapter just read the whole scenerio there it interesting. I pray the Lord open our eyes to that which is hidden in the scriptures |

Gabe427:Lose some friends...only those who mock you? Please re-read what Jesus Christ said there so you are certain you understand that He is not telling you that you will lose some.. He says you will have to loose it all for you to become worthy of Him. Obedience is the key into the Kingdom of God. Acceptance means obedience of His commandments. No one can become a follower of Jesus Christ simply by wishing for it. Jesus required that those who choose to follow Him do the work that He commands they first do i.e. Obey that which He has stipulated. 1. Gabe427:You would need to be more specific. That I pulled out the commandments specific to becoming worthy of Jesus Christ to make it easy for you to know what to look for does not mean I did not read the entire chapter. I read the entire Gospel book through to find those passages which I saved there. Gabe427:The rest of the chapter does not in anyway change the meaning in the passages as I have posted them. So if you have something specific that you think does, please bring it forth. Stop throwing random talk about. Gabe427:I think you are trying to mix what is writtten up, and only further confusing yourself in the process. First off, where Jesus Christ spoke of sin and death since Adam, He was speaking of the wage of sin for which He has brought Salvation with the gift of Eternal life for all those who believe in Him. For your soul, He has given eternal life so all those who believe in Him and accept Him belong to Him. For the rest, are you of the mind that doing as Jesus Christ commanded, obeying His commandments as far as making your vessel worthy of His Spirit, somehow means you are giving something for your own soul? ![]() |

Kobojunkiee:sir have you left your family? have you stopped working? would you leave your children I mean no care for them or be there for them if they decided not to believe David was a man after God's own heart even after sleeping with another man's wife and killed her husband Abraham was righteous even after committing adultry with his wife's servant different instances sir I tell you today the minute you believe you are qualified for the kingdom of God and possess the holy spirit.... it there in John 3:16 glaring as long as you believe I am happy ... cause works don't count. because if they did count for salvation the thieves on the croos. a perfect scenerio one needed signs and more proof and the other one simply believed and what was Jesus reply at that moment? |

Gabe427:Yes, just as He commanded, and just as His disciples, and the first believers had to. Gabe427:Yes, and He does not seem to be wanting me to go back to doing the work that I used to do either. Just as He commanded, just as His disciples and the first believers had to. Gabe427:Yes, I gave up on that so I could first follow after Him, just as He commanded, just as His disciples and the first believers had to. Gabe427:David was not called to believe in Jesus Christ. Don't look to David for answers as far as that which Jesus Christ has commanded of you. Look instead to Jesus Christ and His example to you. David was a man who was born into the the Old Covenant whereas Jesus Christ, Himself, is the embodiment of the New Covenant agreement between God and man. So you see how you cannot seek answers about anything Jesus Christ from a person like David. Gabe427:Abraham was not called to believe in Jesus Christ. Don't look to Abraham for answers as to whether you should obey the commandments of Jesus Christ or not. Look instead to the very examples of Jesus Christ Himself. Jesus Christ is the New Covenant by which we are saved and sanctified. You want answers to Jesus Christ, look to Jesus Christ. Gabe427:John 3 vs. 16 is simply telling you that Jesus Christ came to give you Salvation instead of condemnation that is by sin and death. If you read closely the verses in that same passage, you will note that there is no mention of you becoming born again as a result of belief in Jesus Christ. When you obey Jesus Christ's call to belief, what you get is the gift of eternal life, nothing else! Gabe427:As Jesus Christ never promised all those who believe in Him a place in Heaven, do not be deceived by anyone who suggests to you that salvation guarantees you a place by the side of Jesus Christ because it does not -- Salvation only guarantees freedom from the condemnation of sin that is death, as stated in John 3 vs 15-21, granting one instead the gift of eternal life. The truth is that many of those who believe today will end up spending that gift of eternal life in Hell, not in Heaven, and this is the message that Jesus Christ tried to make clear to all those who will refuse to obey Him. So, do not rejoice simply because you believe. Rejoice instead when you obey His commandments, surrendering to being led fully and controlled by His will and no longer yours. |
| Re: How Do I Receive The Holy Spirit? by Kobojunkiee: 3:00am On Nov 23, 2020 |
Gabe427:I beg to differ because there are many holes in the story of the thief on the cross for one to claim it case of Salvation as you suggest. Jesus Christ told His disciples that only in the end will those who are to enter Heaven be ushered into Heaven and those who are for Hell be ushered into Hell. In parable after Parable, He, Jesus Christ explained how only in the end will Heaven and Hell be populated. But when He spoke to the thief on the cross, He said something that sounded so very different from what He had fed His disciples for His about 3 years of walking with them on earth. Jesus Christ told the thief that he, the thief, would be with Him, Jesus Christ, in a place called "Paradise" that very day. For those who believe that Paradise is another term for the Kingdom of Heaven, there are questions to be pondered. 1. If we are to assume Paradise refers to the Kingdom of Heaven as spoken of by Jesus Christ, then that means Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven on the day of His death, which seems counter to His claim elsewhere. 2. If we are to assume Paradise refers to the Kingdom of Heaven, then we should also conclude that Jesus Christ must have lied to His disciples, even in His many parables about when Heaven will be made open? 3. If we are to assume Paradise refers to the Kingdom of Heaven, then there is the question of why Jesus Christ had to ascend into Heaven without His body, only to then make it back down to earth to be raised on the third day in His body... I could go on and on as far as questions that the assumption ought to raise in the minds of those who carry it as their truth. Basically, these are some of the questions are valid and need to be asked by those who truly seek the truth. After a careful investigation of the 3 occurrences of the word "Paradise" in the New Testament, it becomes clear that Paradise does not in fact refer to the Kingdom of Heaven, and so should not be confused in any way with Heaven. 1. Luke 23:432. 2 Corinthians 12:3-43. Revelation 2:7 |

Kobojunkiee:Anytime you contribute to any thread you display abysmal ignorance. So Jesus didn't teach us to be baptized in Holy Ghost. If your own idea of Baptizsm is not consistent with the experience of the early church, you are a wrong teacher. Let the fellow be. Let him ask God who is the giver. The kind of warped knowledge that 'puffed up' that does not anyone any good keep to yourself. Anyways, you are not the one to answer his prayer. Leave him and his God. Please, let him be. |

Hotonions:With all humility from my side. Holy Spirit Himself will make you understand this as I explain in Jesus Name. The Holy Spirit is with you always. He is the comforter sent by Jesus Christ after His departure to the Father. You need to understand that there are two dimenssions of presence of Holy Spirit in you and with you, Within and without 1. The omnipresence nature of Holy Spirit ( Better explained as EMMANUEL) anywhere/everywhere/anytime/anyday/any season. He is always with you as His Own. Stamped and washed with the blood of the Lamb. 2. The manifest presence of Holy Spirit: This is what you are looking for but it is right there in you. Let me explain better: Let us say I am from a family of four. I have a father, a mother, a sister and I am a male child in the house. We are all in a four bedroom flat without our dad who happened to be reading news paper in his room and the rest of us (3) out of (4) are in the living room. Our father is in the house, he will manifest his presence in the house by speaking or by showing up. Pray this prayer point. Lord Jesus, manifest your Holy Spirit in me. I need you Holy Spirit. Open my Spiritual eyes, ears for your wisdom, knowledge and understanding. I guarantee you that you will get result. |

Kobojunkiee:The only outward evidence that is CONSISTENT through all scripture for the indwelling of the Spirit is Speaking in Tongues. Acts 2, 8, 10, 16, all spoke with tongues, there was no "voice from heaven", nor "rushing mighty wind". You don't expect spectacular things to happen every time because somebody somewhere is receiving the Holy Spirit |

kayuseful:When Luke wrote as He did in the book of acts, he wrote that a tongue of fire was observed over the heads of those of them that received the spirit of God that Pentecost, did he not? And Luke did not suggest that it would be the exact case for every one who received the spirit of God upon their lives. Rather than boxing him in, I think it is better to expect Him to show up in the Spectacular way of His choosing, just as He did with those of old. |

infini771:Unfortunately you have been seriously lied to, and sadly fallen prey to the deceitful tongues of the false teachers out there who themselves are doing the WORK of their father, the devil when they tell you this lie that God does not want you to do any work. Here's the low down as far as life as a believer is concerned. You are called to become a servant of God, to serve(work) God all the days of your life. As a servant, you are meant to obey the commandments of your Master, are you not? ![]() Your life as a servant of God is meant to be lived in obedience to the commandments of Jesus Christ, is it not? ![]() Now, when a servant obeys His Master, is he not doing the Work that His Master has commanded? ![]() If you do not do the work that your Master commands you to do, will your Master reward you or consider you a worthy servant? Remember, the teachings of Jesus Christ as far as His servants are concerned. He even taught us even this in so many parables... only those servants who do the work that is commanded of them will inherit the kingdom. Those who refuse to do the work will be cast out. Kobojunkie:See, I'm not disputing that there was a spectacular experience in Acts 2. My question is, apart from that Pentecost, in other occasions where men received the Holy Spirit, did they also saw the same spectacular occurrence? Act 8:15-17 KJV 15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost. They received the Holy Spirit, no thunder and lightning.. Act 10:44-46 KJV 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. 45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Holy Ghost fell on them, but no rushing mighty wind.. They only spoke in tongues and magnified God Act 19:5-7 KJV 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve. They spoke with tongues and prophesied.. Again, no earthquakes. Elijah saw a wind, but God wasn't in it He saw fire, but God was not in the fire He saw earthquake, but God was not it God spoke in a still small voice. Once you believe that Jesus is Lord and confess the same, you're saved, and the Holy Ghost begins to reside in you, earthquake or no earthquake |
| Re: How Do I Receive The Holy Spirit? by Kobojunkiee: 6:47pm On Nov 23, 2020 |
kayuseful:That is not according to the teaching of Jesus Christ though. The passage below is clear on what it is you are saved from and what it is you get instead when you are saved. If you read clearly, you will see that there is no mention of those who are saved from the condemnation of sin that is death receiving anything but eternal life. John 3 vs 16-21 (ERV)Believing that Jesus Christ is Lord only grants you salvation, which bestows the gift of eternal life on you and nothing more. And in the Gospel of John, Jesus Christ thoroughly explained that the only guarantee that comes with being saved from the condemnation of sin that is death is ETERNAL LIFE - not the spirit of God, or even Heaven itself. John 5 vs 22-30 (ERV)All those who believe in Him will hear His voice, as you are told in verse 28 above. But this gift of ETERNAL LIFE is(pay attention to verse 28 and 29) to be spent by those who believe either in Heaven or in Hell, depending on what one chooses to do after receiving it. Jesus Christ indeed made it clear that only those who live in obedience of Him, become worthy of Him. Read what Jesus Christ Himself said about who He will indwell through His Spirit and what will happen in the lives of those who receive Him. John 14 vs 19 (ERV)So, only those who live in obedience will He, Jesus Christ and the Father come to live inside of, and they can live according to the Will of the Father. |

Kobojunkiee:That "will" to obey is to believe! We are saying the same thing 1Jn 3:22-24 KJV 22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. 23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us. |
