The Truth is simple... You don't have the Spirit of God unless you have become worthy of Him. Do not pretend you have Him when the fact is you do not. On the contrary, I believe God still gives confirmation as He did in the old days. Only these days, not a lot of those who claim to be born again, have ever in fact been.

When the Spirit of God descended on Jesus Christ at His baptism, the voice of God revealed Him as God's. When the Spirit of God came down on the apostles on Pentecost, the confirmation was given to each and everyone who received Him. Before Jesus Christ left the earth, His disciples were sure that they already had a place waiting for them in Heaven. All through the Gospels, we have evidence that these things are not kept from us but in fact, revealed to those who belong to Him.

As a result, it is my belief that God still confirms, at least to those who are of them, their new status in Him.

Well, let's see. According to Jesus Christ, what you have to do in order to get the gift of Salvation is to believe in Him be baptized and eat of His body. Even if you consider it an only qualification, you still have to qualify for it, do you not?

You would need to be more specific. That I pulled out the commandments specific to becoming worthy of Jesus Christ to make it easy for you to know what to look for does not mean I did not read the entire chapter. I read the entire Gospel book through to find those passages which I saved there.

I think you are trying to mix what is writtten up, and only further confusing yourself in the process.
First off, where Jesus Christ spoke of sin and death since Adam, He was speaking of the wage of sin for which He has brought Salvation with the gift of Eternal life for all those who believe in Him. For your soul, He has given eternal life so all those who believe in Him and accept Him belong to Him.

For the rest, are you of the mind that doing as Jesus Christ commanded, obeying His commandments as far as making your vessel worthy of His Spirit, somehow means you are giving something for your own soul?

Had the disciples, and everyone else recorded in the book of Acts to have received the spirit, not done the work as commanded by Jesus Christ and recorded in the Gospels, do you think the Spirit of God would have found them worthy vessels for His person?

If you are indeed filled with the very Spirit of God, then help me understand why you suggested that rather than obeying the commandments of Jesus Christ as stated by Jesus Christ Himself, you instead suggested it has to do instead with something order than what Jesus Christ said?

David was not called to believe in Jesus Christ. Don't look to David for answers as far as that which Jesus Christ has commanded of you. Look instead to Jesus Christ and His example to you. David was a man who was born into the the Old Covenant whereas Jesus Christ, Himself, is the embodiment of the New Covenant agreement between God and man. So you see how you cannot seek answers about anything Jesus Christ from a person like David.

John 3 vs. 16 is simply telling you that Jesus Christ came to give you Salvation instead of condemnation that is by sin and death. If you read closely the verses in that same passage, you will note that there is no mention of you becoming born again as a result of belief in Jesus Christ. When you obey Jesus Christ's call to belief, what you get is the gift of eternal life, nothing else!

As Jesus Christ never promised all those who believe in Him a place in Heaven, do not be deceived by anyone who suggests to you that salvation guarantees you a place by the side of Jesus Christ because it does not -- Salvation only guarantees freedom from the condemnation of sin that is death, as stated in John 3 vs 15-21, granting one instead the gift of eternal life.
The truth is that many of those who believe today will end up spending that gift of eternal life in Hell, not in Heaven, and this is the message that Jesus Christ tried to make clear to all those who will refuse to obey Him. So, do not rejoice simply because you believe. Rejoice instead when you obey His commandments, surrendering to being led fully and controlled by His will and no longer yours.

I beg to differ because there are many holes in the story of the thief on the cross for one to claim it case of Salvation as you suggest.

Jesus Christ told His disciples that only in the end will those who are to enter Heaven be ushered into Heaven and those who are for Hell be ushered into Hell. In parable after Parable, He, Jesus Christ explained how only in the end will Heaven and Hell be populated. But when He spoke to the thief on the cross, He said something that sounded so very different from what He had fed His disciples for His about 3 years of walking with them on earth. Jesus Christ told the thief that he, the thief, would be with Him, Jesus Christ, in a place called "Paradise" that very day. For those who believe that Paradise is another term for the Kingdom of Heaven, there are questions to be pondered.

1. If we are to assume Paradise refers to the Kingdom of Heaven as spoken of by Jesus Christ, then that means Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven on the day of His death, which seems counter to His claim elsewhere.

2. The manifest presence of Holy Spirit: This is what you are looking for but it is right there in you.
Let me explain better: Let us say I am from a family of four. I have a father, a mother, a sister and I am a male child in the house.
We are all in a four bedroom flat without our dad who happened to be reading news paper in his room and the rest of us (3) out of (4) are in the living room.
Our father is in the house, he will manifest his presence in the house by speaking or by showing up.
Pray this prayer point.

To gain salvation, you simply have to believe in Jesus Christ, and what you get is salvation from the condemnation of sin and death which is eternal life. Being saved is not the same thing as being born again. No, to become born again, you have to submit to the lead of the Spirit of God and obey the commandments of Jesus Christ, the New Covenant. Jesus Christ even made it easy when He set out only about 7 commandments for all those who want to become born again.

Obedience is the key into the Kingdom of God. Acceptance means obedience of His commandments. No one can become a follower of Jesus Christ simply by wishing for it. Jesus required that those who choose to follow Him do the work that He commands they first do i.e. Obey that which He has stipulated.

1. Be prepared to abandon parents, brother, sister, children, spouse, in-laws, e.t.c.
2. Abandon all that you know/believe, have, and all that you are
3. Bear your own burden (not someone else's cross- not even your family's or children's)


4. Become a child again in your thinking and your actions

5. Be prepared to lose life(reputation, career, control, property, etc.)

When Luke wrote as He did in the book of acts, he wrote that a tongue of fire was observed over the heads of those of them that received the spirit of God that Pentecost, did he not? And Luke did not suggest that it would be the exact case for every one who received the spirit of God upon their lives.

Rather than boxing him in, I think it is better to expect Him to show up in the Spectacular way of His choosing, just as He did with those of old.

Here's the low down as far as life as a believer is concerned. You are called to become a servant of God, to serve(work) God all the days of your life. As a servant, you are meant to obey the commandments of your Master, are you not?

Now, when a servant obeys His Master, is he not doing the Work that His Master has commanded?

See, I'm not disputing that there was a spectacular experience in Acts 2.

My question is, apart from that Pentecost, in other occasions where men received the Holy Spirit, did they also saw the same spectacular occurrence?
