Barcelona can play with any tactics, ter stegen could even play CM, but I do not want to see grizy in number 9 role.. That guy should be a free lance striker (supporting striker not number 10) to braithweith atm |

Lionel Messi is able to leave Barcelona next summer if he does not agree a new contract, with Manchester City very keen on signing the six-time Ballon d'Or winner. In fact, the City Football Group, who own Manchester City, want to give the Argentine a contract that will last until he is 43 years old. The Times report that Manchester City will offer Messi a 10-year contract which will allow him to also play for any of the other eight teams the City Football Group have in their portfolio, such as New York City FC, Melbourne City or Yokohama Marinos, once he decides to leave the Etihad Stadium. The contract would also include a role as global ambassador for City Football Group. Although Messi's contract does not formally come to an end until June 30, the Barcelona captain will be free to negotiate with new clubs from January 1. There is a lot of conflicting news regarding Messi at the moment, however. For instance, Sky Sports reported on Monday that Manchester City are hesitant about offering the 33-year-old a deal due to his age and wage demands. Victor Font does not want to hear about Messi leaving The fact that Pep Guardiola penned a new contract at Manchester City last week has only added fuel to the rumours that Messi could reunite with his former coach in England. Yet, with presidential elections set to take place at Barcelona on January 24, one of the candidates, Victor Font, is of the belief that the club's star could stay. "I am very convinced that there is a future for Messi at the club," Font said. "Leo is a winner and, like all Barcelona fans, we are disappointed when the results are not there. "But that does not have to do with what can happen in the medium and long term. We have to present him with a solid project with guarantees for the future." |

I’ll repeat it...if Messi stays one more season in Barca, then he’s the most foolish footballer ever. |

SonOfAfonja:True! At this point in his career, he needs a team where he wouldn't have to do loads of work. How Juventus plays to Ronaldo's strength comes to mind. It's either you can play the piano or you carry it. Messi can definitely play the piano, others should be allowed to carry it(if u know what I mean). |

williams10101:Absolutely, considering the fact that he’s been carrying Barca for almost a decade now, Man needs to relax and enjoy being bottle fed now. |

SonOfAfonja:E go gree make them bottle feed am?? Small thing e don drop deep.....plus i feel feeding him would be like building the team around him again |

Moura7:Messi actually reads the game perfectly. And he'll know for sure that our midfield lacks creativity. He mostly drops deep to be the creative outlet. At man-city, there'll be minimum need for that. His groove would come back. |

| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Godx: 5:50pm On Nov 24, 2020 |
SonOfAfonja:Explain how our Midfield lacks creativity? Their is nothing wrong with our Midfield please. Messi drops deep because he likes it. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Moura7(m): 5:53pm On Nov 24, 2020 |
williams10101:Messi wey I know? Baba go still come find that ball deep in midfield. I feel he just loves having the ball with him and creating magic with it. Messi would never want to just sit up front and wait to be spoon-fed a chance to score. Scoring goals all the time don't matter to him like that for a longtime now |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Moura7(m): 6:02pm On Nov 24, 2020 |
Godx:Has more than 50% truth imo sha. The midfielders rarely create clear cut chances, they rarely make forward passes (those defense splitting passes Messi, Xavi, Iniesta always gave us), it's more of them passing amongst themselves or going back. Midfielders are supposed to be the best readers of the game esp in spotting runs by teammates but we don't see that often in our own. Most times Messi just drops deep and almost immediately sends one to Alba and sometimes we watching at home don't even know till the ball reaches the intended player and we start shouting "genius genius"! Ok atleast try to dribble well and attract defenders to you thereby creating more space for your attackers na. That's why you just gotta love Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo, KDB, Silva etc |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Godx: 6:33pm On Nov 24, 2020 |
Moura7:Our Midfielders are ok and can create clear cut chances. The players we have in that Midfield is better than juventus, United, Tottenham, etc Messi drops deep because he likes it not because our Midfield is dead and useless. Even with Xavi and Iniesta, Messi does the same thing. |

| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by FirstbornWds: 6:51pm On Nov 24, 2020 |
Godx:Lol. Messi doesn't drop deep because he likes it. He does it because our midfielders are not creative. During the times of Xavi and Iniesta and even prime Suarez, Messi was a full time forward that drops deep only when he wants to enjoy the game from the others, and probably start those moments of brightness with brilliant runs. Nowadays, he doesn't just drop deep cos of the lack of defense splitting passes, but because if he doesn't do that, nobody else would. |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Godx: 7:04pm On Nov 24, 2020 |
FirstbornWds:Totally inaccurate. Stop peddling this false lie that our Midfield is not creative. Even Alves said it. Messi likes to touch the ball every minute and pep was angry when Alves always pass to Messi. He said it clearly " if Messi doesn't touch the ball every two minutes, he disconnects and we need him connected" This was under Guardiola. That's just his style of play. He cannot play without the ball. |

Not expecting anything from this lineup, it's like a brand new squad. But if Keoman is willing to make this massive changes, what is stopping him from trying out a new formation? |
| Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by Moura7(m): 8:18pm On Nov 24, 2020 |
Godx:Don't get me wrong o, I'm not saying out mids ain't creative, they have that creative ability in them but they are not using it to a full potential. We just see flashes of it on some occasions and bam it's gone. It's not consistent. You saw that De jong assist for Fati against Ferenvaros, have you seen him do something like that again this season? |
