Saudi Aramco slammed for ‘human hand-sanitiser’.

An image of a migrant worker dressed as a “human hand-sanitiser dispenser” has sparked outrage on social media.
The viral photos were reportedly taken at Saudi Arabia’s state oil company Aramco amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

Twitter users described the images posted on Tuesday as “racist” and “classist” as the worker appeared to be walking around offering sanitiser to staff members who could use the dispenser on his chest to get some.

Aramco released a statement referring to the act as “abusive” and claimed it had been “immediately stopped”.

The company expressed its “strong dissatisfaction with this abusive behaviour that was used to emphasise the importance of sanitization, without the approval of the company’s concerned party”.

Only the wise can understand their tactics, moving about gives people more chances of sanitizing their hands regularly without stress, but purchasing a robot is far more better than making a man suffer this

What is inhuman in someone working for his pay?

Did you read what one Chinese company is doing to Nigerians in one of their factories in Abia.

It was on front-page here some months ago.

What will you call that?

There's really no need for this. Simply extend the machine to the floor, rather than getting a migrant worker who you know will settle for anything to do this for you.

The victim mentality among us is becoming irritating.

Those men weren't coerced to do that; they are paid to do so at their own discretion.

Depends on how you look at it my brother.
Here in Asokoro, it is machines that dispense sanitizer, if a human being is there and is controlling it, that means unemployed person in Nigeria minus 1.

Lets now calculate it if we have 30, 000 people doing it across Nigeria.

I know people will say it is dirty job but at least they feed their mouths.

Na only you dey reason like me.

My friend is a driver in Kuwait, he drives a company car. If you see what he built in Kabba?
Initially, I was not happy with him when he made the decision to go to Kuwait and be selling plumbing equipment (store keeper) in 2011 and later a driver.
I was like, a whole graduate. grin

yeah, you right.
It's a valid point.
let's look at it this way. how many months or years do you think someone controlling a hand sanitizer machine would stay employed?
some countries like this Saudi would rather manufacture robots and use in factories instead of humans, where the pay, working conditions, feeding etc have to be negotiated.
the man is a migrant who will do anything for the money.
when a country fails her citizens, her people are at Mercy of peeps like this.

A machine hand sanitizer won't ensure that everyone that enters the building gets Sanitized but a human being would ensure you make use of it by calling your attention and even walking up to you to ensure you sanitize. I think it's a novel way to solve a big issue which is human nature of nonchalance. Plus the young man will definitely get adequately compensated for his work. How many times have you walked past a hand sanitizer designated for use when entering or exiting a building and did not use it, because you re in a hurry, you didn't see it, or you don't just care enough to use it.... There is nothing racist about this sincerely speaking.
