The Nigeria Police Force has reacted to the viral video of its officer that was filmed while he was drunk.

The officer was seen in a drunk state at CBN junction close to police command headquarters in Abuja on Saturday, November 28th. Residents disarmed him to prevent him from shooting sporadically.

In a statement released on Sunday morning, November 29, the spokesperson of the Abuja Police Command, ASP Yusuf Mariam, says the officer has been arrested and will undergo a psychological and medical evaluation before he will be made to face a disciplinary panel. Read the statement below...

Following the viral video of the ‘Drunk Policeman’ at CBN Junction, the FCT Police Command has identified, arrested and taken into custody the Police Inspr shown in the video

2. Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police CP. Bala Ciroma has ordered that the Police officer be subjected to psychological and medical evaluation, preparatory to the commencement of disciplinary actions against him.

3. In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police wishes to unequivocally state that the behaviour portrayed by the Policeman in the video does not depict the standard discipline of the Nigeria Police Force.

He went and drink, most of this force Men are drunkard in disguise. They drink alot, here in the barracks, go to mammy and see the way soldiers are drinking. Some will drink before they go to work.

So that man was simply cruising with beer on duty. grin grin grin

The man in the video is not a member of the Nigerian police force, the gun collected is a toy gun. The news is therefore FAKE and serious sanctions would be melted out to those sponsoring FAKE NEWS!

To be honest I feel sorry for him..

He's either under a lot of stress or just an alcoholic..

I know someone very close to me in his kind of state, he just can't stop drinking.. It's sad..

I just hope they don't sack him, let him be reprimanded and rehab'd..

Also my fellow people, if you feel in some way you are being assaulted or harrassed by a security officer in public, Pls shout and shout..so that passerbys can at least record what's happening..

Tho Social media has its downside but what thing it I like about it is that it shows undiluted reality..specially live unadulterated vids..
