I just checked the portal and found that I have been posted to Yobe state. I never experredit. Never. Please how safe is Yobe? I know Damataru and Potiskum have had their share of BH bombs in the past. How are things there now? How can I get there from Lagos? I know the camp will be very empty and won't be really much fun. Promoter2:You and other Corpers are the ones to make the camp fun,I just came back from the said camp,I advise you leave home in time, you can first take bus going to either kano,Jo's,bauchi or Abuja, from there you take another bus going to potiskum |

Hello. Doing a lot of search before I came across this thread. I just got posted to Yobe and I'd like to know some things 1. How can I get to the NYSC camp? 2. How safe is the route? 3. Is redeployment automatic? I'd appreciate if you can help me with answers. Thank you. |

This is my first time posting on nairaland. I'll make sure to be brief, just thought someone might need this someday. I was actually supposed to go with the nysc batch C1 2024 but we weren't mobilized so I finally landed in C2 in January. I had been patiently waiting for the nysc , resting and eating well because I heard it was gonna be a bit stressful. Registration was survival of the fittest and thank God I registered on the first day, was given call up number and I was patiently waiting to explore because I'm the adventure kind of person. Hmmmmmmm Lo and behold the night that we were supposed to see the place we were posted came out. It was checked for me, and the next morning, I was anticipating and was like what's the state because I was so Nervousss. Yobe state I said I didn't hear well Yobe state I was lost for words It was so funny, like yobe damaturu I never knew I'll even go to yobe state I didn't know when I started sobbing |

I was just crying Like seriously Everyone was just trying to console me, that was when I started checking yobe state on Google and nairaland; trying to get an inspo into what it'll be like. Later during the day I accepted my yobe like that. I had planned to travel on Wednesday morning but that wasn't gonna work anymore because I heard it was 2days journey. So I went to market that day, snapped passport and was looking like who dem panelbeat. Travelled on Tuesday to Abuja and left from yobe park in nasarawa on Wednesday morning. Saw my fellow otondos and we were just laughing at ourselves and where we were going We arrived potiskum at past 8pm and came to the orientation camp around past 9. I was just angry all through, looking so stressed and disoriented. |

What to expect in yobe camp.. We experienced so much of dust, like dust everywhere and I bought countless nose masks. COLD... Omoor , the cold was something else, I slept with jacket, socks, hand gloves and nose mask and still felt terribly cold. In the afternoon it was hot and nights cold. So many persons were just wearing multiple clothes, it was so funny and during the morning meditations, we always struggled for who will be in the middle both guys and girls😂😂 My time in yobe camp wasn't that bad as I envisioned it from the beginning. I had a bit of fun, hear and there, heard the place was safe, enjoyed their sweet fish They had plenty fishes and it was sweet. The community leader came to talk to us and he was so funny 🤣 All in all sha ... On the last day of the camp , I moved. My relocation worked 🙂😁 Buy it sure had a lot of memories and I missed everyone. Especially my platoon 6 members.. Ps: we gracefully took the spoon on the parade day and won victoriously on the carnival day✌️ |
