Help! Who Knows Where Engine Number Is Located On Ivtec Engine by Stubborn82(op): 11:39am On Nov 30, 2020

We wanted to know whether my brother engine is 2.2L or 2.0L engine, because we just bought a new engine for his accord.

And i wanted to know the difference between 2.0L and 2.0L engine and how it affects the speed of a car.

Please advise me, Carlanders, I just got a new engine for my EOD, my mechanic removed the thermostat saying that it could cause overheating to my engine if not remove. The car ran without thermostat in my previous engine and with fan bypassed, yet the car was so overheating and makes a knocking sound when drive for more than 20minutes.

My question is should I removed the thermostat in this new engine or leave it.

It's either a 2.0, 2.4 or 3.0l that is K20, K24 or J30 respectively.

The K20 engine was used in the Accords of Japanese, Australia, Europe and South East Asian markets.

The K24 is available in almost all the accords

The J30 is for the US/Canadian market

The US model will have either a 2.4 or 3.0 i.e K24 and J30.

So you need to Know where the car came from to know it's engine options.

I guess it's a US 2.4l.

The figure 2.0, 2.2, 2.4, 2.5 etc is the total engine displacement. Displacement is the maximum amount of liquid which a cylinder of the engine can displace in one sweep called stroke.

The bigger the number, the larger the engine and the more power the engine produces.

You will sometimes see the number in Litres (L) or Cubic Capacity (cc) or Cubic Centimeters (cm³)

1L=1000cc=1000cm³
2.4L=2400cc=2400cm³

When I checked, I found this

That means the engine is 2.4L
