I paid that fee when l applied for visa the last time. Thank God that l went to the States and returned safely. It's good they have removed it. Saving some bucks while applying for visa gives you more cash to spend in Yankee.

Nigeria was charging usa citizens between 300-500$ for visa application to Nigeria

while US was charging nigerians btwn 160-200$ for visa application to usa

so to balance it for reciprocity, the usa increased the amount and charged 300-500 as equal charges for reciprocity sake.
