So we closed our land borders for a whole year just to send a "message" to our neighbours? What message? That we are a little bit crazy? huh
Don't mind that one oh.. The messenger...

Border closure did not affect our neighbors like it did us... Their currencies are still better than our in Republic of Benin, Ghana etc... But our Naira has lost even more value than ever

Sound reasoning... No gain whatsoever despite all the pains it has as cost us... Many Nigerian businesses suffered and are still suffering its effects undecided

Re: Buhari Promises To Reopen Land Borders "As Soon As Possible" by NwokoloOwa: 9:11pm On Dec 08, 2020
You closed the borders in the Lagos axis where food, cars and basically household items come in from but our northern borders where most arms and ammunition come in from somehow remain open. What an irony!

Usual stories.

You thought we will all die reason you closed some borders and left some open undecided
Northern borders are wide open where bandits, terrorists and bokoharam openly carry guns and massacre people everyday...Drugs are also plentiful in the North.

Yet, he says that's why he closed borders in the South West... Businesses are groaning, food is scarce and expensive, yet, see what he's saying undecided

And we're still a part of ECOWAS

Official opening is totally different from physical opening.. Buhari was a big mistake.
Re: Buhari Promises To Reopen Land Borders "As Soon As Possible" by Dpharisee: 9:26pm On Dec 08, 2020
In reality only borders in the South West were closed, the northern borders and South South region have remained open ever since

You all should note that the economic impact as a result of closure of the border is now hitting hard on Nigeria more than the neighboring countries. That's the only reason Buhari would want the border opened.

1. The Naira has crashed against all West African currencies. The Nigerian Naira is now a laughing stock in West Africa.
2. With the fear to go to farm in the North, there's going to be scarcity of food in Nigeria in the coming festive periods.
3. West African countries have somehow found alternative to Nigeria in meeting their import need.

Those are the only selfish reasons Buhari want to open the border. Nigeria is now worse off than before the border closure.

What West African countries need to do is shutdown their own border now and Buhari will learn even better the hardway that the bilateral African trade treaty would favour Nigeria more than any other country.

Please sir don't open that border until we are food sufficient in Nigeria

Doggedfighter, salary earners, especially business people are seriously in pains. He's collecting tax, VAT especially from the South yet he closed borders here to link his katsina by rail to Niger Republic....

The agenda is clear enough.... But..Please don't cry dearie... I see you're a real fighter.... Heads up sis... We're survivors

We move
