Oga,
No need to panic and start calling Governor as if he didn't know the system already. This method did not start today. It is the irony of always "cleaning" gutters and leaving the trash on the edge of the gutters, then street sweepers and rain dutifully return all the trash back into the gutter. Then the cycle of "cleaning" gutters repeats itself over and over again.

You ask yourself WHY the practice of "cleaning" gutters and leaving the trash on the edge of the gutters instead of evacuating them immediately with a truck has not been imbibed in Nigeria? That is why i rarely applaud anyone cleaning gutters and leaving the trash beside the gutter because i know in a day or two, the entire trash will be sent back into the gutter by man or rain. Thus Work done = ZERO.
Moreover, if the drainage was underground, then no one would need to clean it. On the surface, it may seem cheaper and more convenient for the governor's to build cheap roads with big pits on the sides of the roads, but in the long run, it ends up costing more.

Better to build 5 high quality roads with drains and pavements, than 50 cheap roads, with side pits, you guys refer to as drains.

Nigerian cities reflect the laziness and poor attitudes of people from office of the governor down to the sanitation department and street sweeper. Roads are supposed to have pavement with receptacle bins for waste collection, there is supposed to be a parking lane for cars, any building is supposed to be setback by at least 10 feet in case of expansion.

This is what you see in American cities built largely over 100 years ago. PLANNING.

Nigeria? Planning failure because of nepotism and incompetence. Governors put politicians and friends in charge of urban planning and infrastructure and you get substandard work.

Just look at the unizik junction foot bridge in Awka built by Peter Obi. Part of it obstructs the expressway and you wonder who approved it.

If you want to see what a well planned city in Africa looks like just look at Gaborone Botswana.

Landscaping, trees ? Where are provision for utilities like electric poles, internet cabling, drainage? Clem please don't compromise on the design. That's how Udoka estate, Ngozika all looked great in 3d renderings but all ended up like any typical Nigerian estate

Most cities build 5 to 10 high quality roads. Manhattan in New York has Avenues from 1st to 11th which are 100 feet wide and then lots of cross streets many of which don't have pavements. Planning. Contrast with Iweka Road or Awka Road in Onitsha or Zik Avenue and Ifite Road in Awka which are major roads that look like crap with markets, filth, no parking or pavement.

Owerri is a 5th world town and a shithole compare to Onitsha. Almost all the roads in Owerri are dilapidated with filth littered everywhere. Owerri and Aba are siamese twins when it comes to bad roads and filth.

Frustrated hopeless bitter useless worthless vagabond. Anambra has the best road networks at least in the SE region. Awka and Onitsha has good roads, neat environment, with organized markets. Kill yourself if you can't bear the truth

Your opinion is useless worthless and hopelessly stupid. Anambra is the best state in SE. Udoka and Ngozika are some of best Estates in the region. Awka Millennium city is the only smartcity in Nigeria.

This is great. Awka Millennium city is the best city and only smartcity out of Nigeria. AMC is being built from the scratch like Abuja, which will make it the best.

Says a local champ who hasn't left his Onitsha enclave for years... I am not talking about big buildings here oh.. I am talking about dust-free, unlittered, uncongested roads, and residents. Owerri beats Onitsha hands down..

No need for that bro. All are great Igbo cities
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by FOXDOSSIER: 5:24pm On Dec 09, 2020
So says a dirty pig village champion that hasn't left the cursed backward dilapidated dumpsite called ABA in his entire life. I am not talking about brothels, prostitutes, filthy roads, dilapidated roads that Owerri is marked for. Onitsha beats Owerri hands down in all aspects development and advancement, that's why there are much population of Imolites living in Onitsha but you can't find any Anambran living anywhere near Imo state. By the way, Abia your state is the worst and most backward state in Nigeria.

Only if Owerri can do what Onitsha is doing.

What's the population of Owerri, wat are they known for, what important thing are they doing, that can cause gridlock in Owerri

Even if the government dualize all the roads in Anambra state, construct more road, there will still be gridlock in Onitsha, unlike Lagos
