when I was growing up, the saying was education is the key, but I have come to know that education is not really the key but it present you the avenue to discovering the key. am not saying education should be less desired. the truth is that many have gone through school without discovering the key. education enlightens you and also point to the direction of the key. the most important thing is to recognize the key when you see it.

The education is knowing that education is not the key.

The key is the works of your hands.

yes, you are on track. education makes your face to shine where ever you go, it makes you outstanding from others, but it is still not the key. only a key pointer

You are not. A key is merely a means to an end...

Education is a key (means) because it allows you unlock a whole load of lifelong securities like financial security, freedom, employment, entrepreneurship, enlightenment etc. (end)

It allows you live the life of your dream. You are just another human who can smartly use the tool (education) to unlock a whole lot of opportunities

Education is the key bro. The works of your hand are the products of the education; it is the result you get when you unlock the padlock with the key (education)

No. Most people think one can only be educated in school but no. Education is part of life... Just like we breath everyday, we learn everyday. Education is borne from our curious and inquisitive nature. When you learn a new concept or curious about how a phenomenon works, you have been educated. You don't have to pass through a citadel of learning.

Ancient men were able to achieve great feats like the pyramid, the seven wonders of the world and many architectural designs because they took out time to learn about architecture and engineering; not necessarily in a school. From the knowledge, they were able to build simple machines like wedges, and pulleys and fabricated simple tools like hoes, swords, armours, etc...

Right from the times of Plato and Aristotle to Galileo, and Pythagoras down to the great Da Vinci, many people then couldn't afford to go to school as schooling was very costly then, and therefore was exclusive to the elites, but even at that, people seeked for knowledge. If not for education, all those empires (Mayan, Greek, Roman, Chinese etc.) we read about wouldn't be possible.

Education is the key bro. It is the first path to achieve anything.

That's the misconception bro. A lot of people think you can only be educated in school... They don't understand that education is human nature.

We started learning from when we were kids mostly through experimentation; a child would touch hot or sharp object and cry... But on the long run, he learns that touching hot or sharp objects don't feel good; he gets educated.

The first time I cooked, I added much salt to the food to the extent I had to pour the food away... That day, I learned a great lesson; too much salt spoils a good food... That is education!

In Igbo, an established business man would come down to the village and take his relative who would start learning the same business concept (e.g spare parts, or clothing business)
When he has learned enough (he's been educated), the Oga settles him and he starts his own business. So the key (business education) helped him to unlock the path (cloth or spare parts business)
