Engr. Adedeji Doherty, the Lagos State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has voluntarily resigned his position, Daily Independent has gathered.

Confirming the development to our correspondent on Wednesday afternoon, Barr. Taofik Gani, the party's Publicity Secretary said the Deputy State chairman will fill the vacant position in Acting capacity.

He also said a press briefing will be issued soon.

Efforts to reach Doherty on why he took the decision proved abortive as he did not answer calls and text messages by our correspondent.
