Nigeria is currently witnessing the worst form of insecurity, since it gained independence. Everyday we are inundated with news of murders,armed robbery,rape and kidnappings. The political class at local,state and federal level are not concerned because they move with a battalion of armed escorts consisting of army and police officers.

The security network of Nigeria was designed to only protect the political class and wealthy connected businessmen who are able to create their own private security network consisting of police and army personnel after greasing some palms. The rest of the Nigeria population is left at the mercy of men of the underworld.

The thousands of police and army personnel attached to politicians across the country at federal,state and local level should be withdrawn, with the exception of the President and Vice President.

Until Nigerian politicians at all levels feel the effect of the insecurity in the nation, nothing will be done about it.

Look at how simple the average convoy was in 1999 ,just Peugeot 505's in the convoy. Fast forward to the present day when they started to live kings and started using Mercedes,BMW's,Lexus and Range Rover's.

In western countries only the President/Prime Minister and the Vice Presidents enjoy security convoys.

That's a short sighted approach , it is better to improve security , when security improves armed escort reduces , it's not easy for private business who use armed escorts because it cost a lot

The word is Security Corruption!!! The insecurity is a cash cow for Governor's because it aids them in cashing endless security vote , it's a cash cow for military complex whose senior officers are all becoming rich from the insecurity and for the police is a cash cow for those renting out over 150 thousand policemen daily and corrupt venture I gather rakes in almost 100 billion naira monthly for the racketeers involved .. Just like the Apapa gridlock these things are all orchestrated to ensure extortion of Nigerias resources

Guns are legal in America clown. Nigerian state has abdicated it's security responsibility and only protects the political class and wealthy businessmen.
