I had no doubt in my mind that most of my fellow Igbos would support Nnamdi Kanu's Eastern Security Network(ESN) when it first came out 6 days ago. Its not the first time time Kanu has rolled out something like that, there was Biafran Security Service(BSS) in 2017 and most Igbos were not against it.

What bothered me was what the reaction of the people would be when videos of ESN, patrolling with arms, emerged. I sampled opinion of Igbos on Social media platforms such as Whatsapp groups, Facebook chatrooms and YouTube as well as Markets and beer palour talk. I came to the conclusion that the vast majority of Igbos not only support Nnamdi Kanu's ESN, they also support the fact that they are armed. The two major reasons people gave for supporting ESN being armed is that they do not expect ESN to fight insecurity empty handed. Also, most haven't forgotten what the Nigerian Army did in the East, during Python dance, just because BSS was unarmed. In the East, confidence and trust in the security forces of Nigeria is not high at the moment.

However, most people are wondering how the government will react to ESN.
