Immigration Re-Opens Seme, Illela, Maigatari & Mfum Land Borders by Nemere2020(op): 10:51am On Dec 18, 2020

In compliance with the directive of the Federal Government, the Management of the Nigeria Immigration Service has reopened the following four (4) Land Borders namely Seme (South-West), Illela (North-West), Maigatari (North-West and North-East), and Mfum (South-South) in the first phase, since the closure of land borders on 20th August 2019.

In a statement by the Service Public Relations Officer James Sunday, the Comptroller General directed the Heads of the Service formations at these four designated authorized Border Posts to comply and remove restrictions of human movements, while avoiding unethical practices and unprofessional conducts.

He also said all persons entering or exiting the country must hold valid travel documents as prescribed in the Immigration Act, 2015 and to observe COVID-19 protocols.

The Service also enjoins travellers to pass through only these four (4) designated authorized border posts pending the opening of the others.

I am so happy....

I realise even farmers refused to sell rice early. They are still hoarding it hoping to sell at exorbitant price next year. God done catch them!

The price of rice is already falling in many state.

I think the border closure was a big economic mistake.

Well, they have opened the borders.

Slightly off topic, but the whole Nairaland politics page has really become a center of bitterness.Every day it is my tribe against your tribe, my party against yours, and some of the discussions would be better in the Racisim page on this site.

If you are so bitter as to allege your government staged a kidnap...and at the same time criticsse them for allowing the kidnap to happen in the first place, then something is wrong with your thinking process really.

The government does not look good with this kidnap anyway. They let the kidnappers go, plus they look bad for allowing the kidnap to happen in the first place...

Below is the promise they made in 2015. This kidnapo shows they haven't kept that promise...plus banditry and company are still happening.

How can someone from Benin republic vote In a Nigeria Election likewise someone from Niger republic..
