They unknowingly bring this evi upon themselves as they, sometimes ago, started collecting so called staff of office for their post from political authority instead of being contented with traditional rites that make them King.

This is not a conducive time to be a traditional ruler in Nigeria.

They are treated with so much disdain by state governors.

Even a maiguard job is more secure than that of a traditional ruler.

Is there anything in Nigeria that is not outrageously grotesque? Is it govt, civil service, law enforcement, politicians or who or which entity is not?
So no way you can expect traditional institutions to be totally different. Remember that Western monarchs preside over homogeneous countries shaped by them. Not cobbled together by foreigners for foreign interests.

Only for everyone to be fighting marginalisation as everybody claims. Even Buhari can be lamenting marginalisation even as we speak despite being president. grin
