First thing to do is to have a written agreement so that you can plan your life, without agreement you may stay there till you grow old. Work and push for an agreement. |

Chimpretty:Please don't vex. Don't you think the Nigeria kinda small scale business is going nowhere? And please Where do you see motor spare parts business 10 years from now? Because when you check out how much to start up most business due to the economy crisis, you'd see shit is messed up.. |

PapaNwaeje:Ewu.... If you leave that shop you're a foool and an idiot. Imagine leaving a whole spare parts business for 30 subs YouTube channel. You're a goat. Your cutout Alone from that business in 6 months will set u up in life. Leave the business and watch your friends who stayed in next 2 years. If spare part business with less than 10,000 dealers in Nigeria is saturated.... Then YouTube business model with more than 20million channels nation wide is flooded. Nonsense... Receive sense. If your oga is doing well. What makes u think u will do bad |

You can do both. Dont leave your apprenticeship, that would be a mistake because as long as people are still driving cars, people are still gonna buy car parts. Run the Youtube thing on the side, because if it becomes your one and only plan, the pressure to succeed would make you fail before you can even start. Do both, but your apprenticeship comes first. |

silkytouch:Thank you so much, that's exactly what's on his mind. Thank you and thank you. But please sir how do we make the oga sign the agreement? Next year will make it his 3 years there. No agreement, nothing! I'm scared they might want him to stay more than the required years, he's supposed to. He has siblings and a mother to take care of, he's also not allowed to use phone so this youtube thing is a secret. |

gistray:It's not what you think sir, the boy has dreams too! I think you need to read his dairy to understand better. Next year is his third year there, his other colleagues had written agreement to stay 5 years but him, nothing! They are trying to make him stay longer, this kinda thing needs agreement; a written one! You can't keep a young boy with potentials with you, crucifying him without doing the needful. Haba! |

PapaNwaeje:Oga, which opinion do you need again? ![]() Like others have said, get a written agreement for the boy or let him move on with his Life. Like Asa said: "If I die, another will work...so you treat me like a modern slave." The boy can be used for 10 years and get sent away because he can be easily replaced. A word is enough. |

Honestly combine both. You can start making videos on stuffs like the day in the life of a Nigerian auto parts seller. What to look out for when buying auto parts. How fake auto parts are made in Nigeria. How to identify fake from original parts. Videos like that can even give you customers sef as people can be contacting from all around to help them buy parts. It will also help solidify your knowledge in the business too and grow your YouTube channel. You can move on to other things as your subscription rate increases. |

Before a YouTube channel can be monetize, you need to have 1000 subscribers and 10000 views in total. Your 30 subscribers is too low |

[quote author=PapaNwaeje post=97214443]Agreements are usually signed right before apprenticeship get underway, not during or after, so that each party can understand the terms and conditions involved and adhere to it. Right now, having been in it unofficially already for 3 years, I would say, getting the Oga to sign that thing on terms that will favour that guy is almost impossible. I really dont know what to advice at this point because the mistake has been made. Its a very tricky situation now. |
