There is heavy traffic at the Berger -Alausa - Magodo axis of Lagos State after a fuel tanker caught fire on Otedola bridge, along Lagos - Ibadan Expressway , on Saturday.
The PUNCH gathered that the incident happened a few minutes to 6 pm.

The incident caused panic on the expressway as many vehicles made U-turn in a bid to avoid being engulfed by fire .
Some passengers were also seen alighting from vehicles hurriedly .

Many passengers were also stranded at the Alausa Secretariat and toll gate bus stops .
As of the time of filling this report , details of the fire incident are sketchy.
Some motorists who spoke to our correspondent lamented that they had spent over one hour in traffic .

One of them, Akpan , said , “ I regret passing this route today . I have been here for about one hour . My passengers have all alighted and they were yet to pay their transport fares. ”

Otedola bridge again... this should be like the 3rd time in a 1year

Our lawmakers will not make regulations now to make sure those tankers are up to standard and ensure safety road users. If it's how to suffer the common now with useless policies two seconds it's done.

Who else has noticed, most accidents on that bridge is always fire related and it always occurs closer to or during the weekends.

From Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday.
