How did you know? Have you done any investigation to ascertain these facts.
Criminals buy guns from police, thugs get guns from various politicians during elections to snatch ballot.
Cultists destabilize communities with guns, commit crimes with guns, teenagers involved in cultism have access to this guns.
These guns can be easily be rented by anyone who want to have access to it.
Hollywood and others have access to it them too will like to follow their lead just to make it look real.

You are right. Sometimes, if I want to complain about the industry, I remember they achieve everything they got today with zero help from the Govt. No security, bad roads, area boys extortions, no access to loans, can't access Govt facilities for filming. For Govt to give them permission to film in our airport, na wahala. Sometimes, movies want to include the real people, that's why they want to use the real facilities. If you have access, it's even difficult in Nigeria because many are jobless. Our people will wait and be starring cos they have nothing tangible to do with their time.

I know what you mean about actresses richer than actors. Trust me, the majority of them does not involve in shady things. Our actresses are more humble than our actors. Go to Instagram and see those ladies begging people to buy products from them. Whereas, our actors are forming big boys by showing us champagne and club vibing all the time. Those ladies are wiser. They use their influence to sell products when they are reigning.

I appreciate the industry but there is room for improvement. I have seen a lot of improvement in recent years. If they can find ways to stop piracy and be sure of a good return on investment, I am very sure they will be taking the risk by investing a lot of money in their movies.

Areas of Improvement in Nollywood/Kannywood/Yorubawood(sorry, I forgot what they are called):
1. An industry where actresses are successful than 90% of actors. I know many actors in Abuja that are just managing life but the actresses are buying exotic cars, travelling abroad and building houses. Are actresses paid more than Actors (Pretending I don't know what else they do).

2. Always writing scripts along "King, Prince, Kingdom" lines. Watch 1000 movies and most are along that story line. Pls, where is the creativity. How many real life kings do we have in Nigeria? Nigeria is about 200million people with less than 3000 kings, Emirs, Obas, etc, so why are the movies centered on "kingdoms"

3. Always bringing in diabolic depictions in movies. Please, Africans have other aspects of life. (Gbonkan just left this group).

4. Always using costumes that don't depict our way of dressing

5. Shooting a full season (1-5) in one or two days, thereby breeding repeating scenes, poor editing, irrevant, delayed scenes (showing us when a character treks from her house in the village to Lagos )

6. Always repeating locations. Make una de try de redesign the locations small. I know the Government is not helping but since you have built that successful industry, be more creative.

7. Why the disparity in nomenclature of Nigerian movie industry? Why Kannywood, Cally wood (CrossRiver own), Nollywood, etc

8. Why is there no " centralised shooting location in Nigeria " (HQ of movie industry, if you like)?

9. Why are the bodies (AGN, etc) always fighting themselves, even going the "extra mile" to do so?

10. Why no contributory fund to cater for ailing actors?

In as much as we are better than the movie industry of most countries as well as one of the biggest in the world, our creative industry (movie makers) should upgrade. I know they face a lot of challenges but they will overcome.

this is why your politicians always toy with your non functional brain all the time because a large chunk of you are fools and can not reason propperly. The guy may have possibly been framed up by his enemies and assassinated.

Maybe a Kunle Afolayan type of director will use a loaded gun on set.

But not the directors of those days.

And guns are not that easy to rent, from just anyone, in Nigeria.

And because guns are rare, no one will get guns for cheap, not especially directors of low-budget movies of that time.

I am sure that even corrupt policemen don't rent guns out to armed robbers for a stipend.
