Keoman had just started coaching Barcelona when he wanted Puig to be sent on loan. They were even still in pre season. So this short period was enough for him to conclude that the previous season best midfielder was a fraud?

Like I said earlier, he wanted Puig gone because he didn't fit into his plans and he didn't want to stall his progress because about 3 midfielders were to join the team, which means more competition for spaces.

Now that his plans have proven to be useless, the next thing a sensible coach would have done is to change plans and be happy that he still has players that didn't fit his initial plans. But here we are. He is refusing to give the boy play time.

I like Koeman.I like that he's stubborn and strict and direct. That's exactly what underperforming people needs. Barcelona players have underperformed for far too long. Valverde spoilt them with tenderness. I think Koeman has been less fortunate.
