I agree with you totally . Why not collect that data generated by BVN and sync that with your NIMC data base for updates. Why stress people for everything ?

Do you know the number of times we’ve done this NIMC rubbish ? People were tired of Government’s data collection incompetence over the years so they don’t care anymore . Now that insecurity threatens their own existence , they want to rush it. Nonsense people. But I can bet it with you , they will extend again and again until end of 2021.

How do you register over 100 million subscribers in 3 weeks ? Even with all the telecoms facilities , it will take months if not years . SIM registration took years to complete . Then you want to disconnect millions of people from phones that drive micro economies in a recession ? They won’t do it na just threats .

This man lacks sense and isn't aware of the current happenings. Globally. Before the lockdown began in March or thereabout, we just got out of the terrible frustration of those registering for jamb or so. As soon as people began to go for their enrollment, Covid 19 surfaced and there was complete lockdown which we all know how it lingered and still lingering. So how is it citizen's apathy that caused it?

Didn't they have sense to have used wider spreads as they included telcos before unlike the myopic sense of going to NIMC offices only or what is stopping them from making using the internet for pre enrollment, which we can print for biometrics to be updated at the offices later. After all said and done, as it as always been, they just stressing nigerians to make their job easy but nothing to show for it. I won't be surprised if it is a prerequisite for their social media regulations self, making it easy to track down those that oppose their decisions or views.

Useless government and nation.

Nonsense! Why would people visit the centers when you people show lacklustre attitude in the entire process.

I registered for a National Identity Card in 2015 and since that time till date, i haven't been issued the card. The so-called NIN is not even validated in the NIMC database as at the last time i checked.

The reason i even decided to register was because of a US based free-lance website which i do online jobs that required for some ID before i withdraw my money only for me to submit the useless NIN slip and they said the number on the NIN cannot be validated. Na so i take loss $3,000.

IQ Options, the online trading platform i registered with also rejected the NIN slip and i was forced to do a driver's license before my account was approved.

The so-called NIN is just as useless as a POS printed Declined Transaction piece of paper and i am sure many Nigerians know this hence their refusal to go waste their time to enrol.

It is very frustrating my brother. I had similar experience.

Just to produce National ID card for citizens has taken over 20 years and still counting.

How can one apply for National ID card when he is young and get it when he/she is very old...of what use will it be.

Government need to scrap off some of it's agencies b/c it's a waste of money to pay people who cannot do their job.

I am definitely not going to expose myself to Covid in the name of NIN. This is Nigeria,. The right idea will come in due course and by then some people would have become Covid positive. If they bar my line, I start using post office, DHL and Internet based WiFi. Rubbish nation.

An uncle of a friend of mine approached the Government for a proposal to build a central datacenter with servers in conjunction with the Nigerian Police force, Ministry for Health and NIMC which will house the biometrics and DNA of all Nigerians so that vices like fraud, burgling, armed robbery, kidnapping and even murder will be solved easily like it is done in some other countries. His company was to run it for 5 years before handing it over to the Government but the government threw the proposal into the bin.

These b@stards that call themselves leaders know what they are doing.

They themselves and even members of their families are into various crimes and wouldn't want such a thing to come into play because it will affect them. Imagine finding the body of a kidnapped girl in the bush and after forensic investigation, you find out that the DNA of the semen found on her is owned by the Governor of a state or a Senator.

Do you know the billions all these telecoms will lose if they disconnect 100 million people when they have already done sim registration for them ? It is just toothless threats. They will never do it, I can bet it any day anytime. Na to dey shift goal posts .

Its gud development but why cnt it be a continuous exercise like BVN pls?
