That last post reminds me of foreigners trying pronounce Nigerian names.

One of Nigeria's greatest Nigerian golfers in the 1980s was ***** . He often won golf tournaments at the Ikoyi Club and around the world. A British commentator wrote an article about how difficult it was for him to learn to pronounce the name *** when *** *** played in the British Open.


A BBC broadcaster also told the story of how he had to take extra lessons to be able to pronounce the name Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and that by the time he finally mastered how to pronounce the name properly, Tafawa Balewa was assassinated!
