Kwara State popularly called ipinle kwara is a state located in Western Nigeria but grouped under the north Central geopolitical zone.

Ekiti people are in Ekiti, Kwara and 3 LGAs in Ondo state: Akure North, South and Ifedore. They have close groups like Ijesas, Okuns, Igbominas, Ondos, Akokos and Owos as neighbours.

They are one of the largest Yoruba subgroups.
A king in Ekiti Kwara and Deji of Akure used to be part of Ekiti kings' Pelupelu. Recently, Ekiti in Kwara is associating more with their Igbomina neighbours because they're in the same state and have same challenges. Although there have been moves to join their kins in Ekiti State several times; Otun Ekiti was calved into West Central State (Kwara) initially in the 60s but fought very hard to be in Western State and Ondo State (now Ekiti State).

It's so odd to find out that someone from Odo Owa (where Pastor/Prophet Ayo Babalola of C.A.C came from) a stone throw from Erimope-Ekiti is a northerner. Just like many Ekitis, Igbominas, Okuns and Ibolos are forced Yoruba Northerners.
