Jorginho is on 25/29 from the spot with that same technique so it's not poor. His trick has worked really good in the past but seems this season keepers already figured him out. He has miss 3 already.

The loss was on Lampard and the players, our midfield was non-existent for large spell of the game yet he couldn't readjust his tactics to cope with Arsenal's overload and intensive pressing. Kovacic and Kante were poor the only player in the first half midfielders who tried was Mount. When we tried to bypass the press and launch it forward Abraham will foul an opponent instead of knocking it down. Werner was poor he wasn't even making the runs he was known for.
The bright spark was Hudson-Odoi the boy deserves a consistent run in the team for now till when Ziyech returns to full fitness.

I thought I was the only one who saw Pulisic not play anything at all in the first half. He was practically a passenger in that half.

You want to be a Liverpool with Giroud as your main hope for centre-forward shows that your expectations are amiss.

To be a Liverpool, you need a Salah, a Mane, a KDB, a Sterling, an Aguero, a Lewandowski, a Messi etc.

The only two attackers we have even approaching half that level (Ziyech and Pulisic) are constantly injured.

The truth is that spending big money on Havertz is distorting expectations especially as Havertz is becoming an albatross round the neck. Arsenal don't become a consistent title contender just because they spent the same amount on Pepe. A young Salah or Mane will fetch you £200m-£250m on the open market now so forget thinking that Havertz signing is transformative. Infact, Lampard should not have accepted that signing as it distorts expectations. It is a signing the board brought to him, not one he asked for. That guy cannot measure up to even half of Bruno Fernandes even on form, yet the expectation is that we transform into consistent title contenders while Manure continue to be happy with top4.

My expectations at the start of this season were to finish behind City and Liverpool ie 3rd or 4th and that hasn't changed, nor am I panicking while we are still in that race. It is looking obvious that those who expected Chelsea to be title contenders and were dancing and trolling rival fans all summer about signing Kai and Werner are the ones whose fuse is short at any draw or defeat. Even in our second game against West Brom, before our new signings could step on the pitch, they had started blaming Lampard for brainfarts of Alonso and Kepa.

With young managers, what you look for is promise. Often when we have our full players on the pitch, there is plenty of that. We are always in the top two or three for chances created and in the bottom two or three for chances conceded which tells me something is going right but the team is not complete in the striker position, and suffering key injuries in other positions.

That midfield was easily bypassed with Kovavic in it. I personally don't rate Jorginho but he kinda stabilised the midfield play when he came in and was instrumental to the push for a comeback before he eventually missed the penalty with his hopping penalty style
