naijainreverse: Idiotic indomie generation member. The seeds of the distrust between the East and West was sowed by your father Zik in 1938 when he split NYM on tribal sentiments in protest over the loss of the NYM leadership election by his favoured candidate. The same fraudulent One-Nigeria originator would later abandon his own region and seek to rule the West where he was more or less an alien. He would as well play the spoiler role against Awolowo's attempt to get Yoruba areas of the Northern Region carved back into the West where they should have naturally belonged. I guess these atrocities of his were gentleman politics in your depraved reasoning of what constitutes ideals of politics and nation building. While I am not from the West, I would ask you how Awolowo caused the problems facing the South today. I guess it was Awolowo that rejected secession clause, discouraged the North from seceding from Nigeria in 1954, inspired Ironsi to promulgate the infamous Anti-secession and Unification Decrees, crushed Isaac Boro's secession attempt, aligned with and gave power to the North over the South both in 1960 and 1979, etc. It is obvious you are a crass ignoramus on Nigeria's history. You obviously need to go back to the bush school you attended and start all over again from kindergarten classes. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

naijainreverse: When did Nigeria come into existence and when did they allegedly start trying to conquer Nigeria? If you were not a crass ignoramus you would have known that Ahmadu Bello was the first person to describe Nigeria as the mistake of 1914 and began asking for de-amalgamation while your myopic and greedy Azikiwe was declaring publicly that the gods of Africa had given Nigeria over to Igbos to conquer and dominate. 5 Likes |

naijainreverse: Awolowo was a consistent and consummate federalist and federalism is, in principle, a system which seeks to lawfully allow every tribe however small to have the power to govern themselves and decide their destiny within a multi-ethnic society. So federalism naturally has the trappings of tribalism and a badly educated person like Zik and his cheerleaders like you would easily mistake a federalist for a tribalist. Ironically your likes want a return to federalism today and at the same time claim to want and end to tribalism. See how delusional you can be? If Awolowo was a tribalist for not allowing you land grabbers take over his region while you secured yours for yourselves, then your dictionary must have come from the moon. Why was Azikiwe not satisfied with ruling his own home region where no one was contending premiership with him? Hypocrites! Ironically the same Azikiwe who was posing as a detribalised citizen joined Igbo State Union ( a tribal association) and even accepted chairmanship of it. So who was fooling who about not being a tribalist? And what did Azikiwe's fraudulent nationalism bring onto you if not bloodshed, sorrow, lack of infrastructural development, marginalization, political destitution, etc which you have continued to wail about till eternity? 5 Likes 2 Shares |

Re: Throwback Photos From The Burial Of Aguiyi Ironsi In 1966 by Deadlytruth(m): 7:22pm On Dec 27, 2020 |
melodyogonna:You are mixing up two different eras. We all know that in the pre-colonial era the Fulanis, just like every other tribe, were on an expansionist drive to conquer other tribes and expand their empire. That was the time of Uthman Dan Fodio. It was a primitive and barbaric era and no tribe was innocent of such drive for conquest of others. But in the colonial era, Western education and modernization came and indegenous African people began to shed those primitive tendencies and began to imbibe the notion of nation building through democratic means. Ahmadu Bello became the leaders of Fulanis in Nigeria in this era but believed strongly that his Fulani tribe had no business being part of Nigeria because they feared domination by Southern tribes, and of course he and his tribe had their right to such belief. But the likes of Azikiwe criticized them for openly expressing such right and used the British to compel them into accepting Nigerian citizenship reluctantly but on the condition that their Northern Region be given undue advantage and Azikiwe agreed. It is their use of this undue advantage that we now interprete as a quest to conquer the South. It was all Azikiwe's and Igbos fault. If you Igbos had allowed them opt out of Nigeria as they wished, would we have been having to contend with their conquest quest today? 6 Likes 1 Share |

Deadlytruth:Leaving the fact that you're trying to blackmail Igbos for what one person did aside, how do you expect Zik to know what would happen decades later? I'm sure he had his reasons and expectations, things that never worked out as imagined. As I said earlier in the thread, the future is always a gamble |
Re: Throwback Photos From The Burial Of Aguiyi Ironsi In 1966 by Deadlytruth(m): 7:55pm On Dec 27, 2020 |
melodyogonna: There is what is called foresight and being realistic. A proverb also says that the morning shows the day meaning that you can actually predict the future to a high level of accuracy based on the events of the present. The events back then clearly pointed to a very dark and bleak future and Azikiwe himself and Igbos knew it but their ulterior motive took the better of them. With Northerners already killing Southerners in Kano and Jos over the most trivial issues, what more evidence did any sensible and honest person need to infer that Nigeria had no future and one-Nigerianism was a misleading doctrine? Aren't we Southerners including your very self currently asking for dissolution of the union because we can see and infer from the present insecurity and lopsidedness in appointments by the FG that the future is scary? So quit this line of defense for Azikiwe's folly and Igbos' tacit support for his misadventures back then. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Dedetwo: I felt you conveniently avoided giving a response to my question, on why Ironsi refused restoring power to civilian authorities after foiling the coup. The excuse you gave for avoiding my question was that the question is an 'indictment of Nigeria educational system', which does not make sense in any way, without you giving an enlightenment to those of us, who are not opportuned to have the type of superior education you have as to the reason for Ironsi's act of treachery. You are absolutely correct that there was no any official government Minister designated as Deputy Prime Minister in the Parliamentary system of government which Nigeria practiced in the 1st Republic. This does not implies that the major party in the ruling coalition then, the Northern People's Congress (NPC), does not have an heirachical structure in place, among Cabinet Ministers, which is common practice in Britain, where the system was borrowed. After the assassination of Tafawa Balewa, NPC cabinet members, who are the major partner in the coalition with NCNC and NNDP, chose Zanna Diprichima as the Prime Minister designate to succeed Tafawa Balewa but the move was scuttled by both Ironsi and Nwafor Orizu, the then acting President, in the absence of Azikwe, who was conveniently away on an extended 'medical cruise', in the Caribbean. http://www.waado.org/nigerdelta/nigeria_facts/militaryrule/omoigui/northcountercoup.htm |

nku5: I am sure if you could be honest with yourself, you will realize that your write up, is absolute piece of shit. Your kinsmen carried out a coup that eliminated all senior military and political leaders of other ethnic groups and spared everyone in your ethnic group. The next step you took after taking grabbing power, after the coup, was to give protection to your kinsmen that assassinated all the victims of the coup and thereafter, you set up an investigative committee to find out why the coup was carried out by your 'blothers'. I am happy you mentioned in your 'piece of crap', that Nigeria is a very deep and wicked country', which in the estimation of most Nigerians, is what the Yeebos did to other Nigerians on January 15th, 1966. 2 Likes |

bayocanny: I beg to disagree my Brother. The only person among our founding fathers, who threw his foresight to the dogs, was Azikwe and he apparently did this, because of what himself and other Igbo leaders, felt they stand to benefit from a United Nigeria despite all the signals from the North that they were not interested in a United Nigeria. Nigeria's creation was as a result of the mistake of 1914 which must be corrected; Alhaji Ahmadu Bello. There is no basis for Nigeria's unity; Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Let's forget our differences; Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe. 2 Likes |

johntolu: They will never admit it,rather they will want us to believe that they are actually the victims ! They assume the rest of us are stupid people who can't read between the lines. Igbo people laid the foundation for everything and all things that are wrong with Nigeria today. Azikiwe would rather be Premier of western region instead of that of the east where he came from and when the Yoruba people said no,he teamed up with the Hausa/Fulani to frustrate Awolowo. That man practically sacrificed southern interests for his own greedy political ambitions. While the bloody coup was ongoing, claiming lives of political, military and religious leaders of other ethnic nationalities, except Igbo, "saint" Ironsi was comfortably sipping a cup of hot tea with his greedy eyes set on the map of Lagos ( they have always wanted Lagos) ! God can't be deceived however, take a look at where the very people who wanted to dominate others are today in Nigeria. They are nowhere ! They will however tell you that they own all the properties in Kano,Port Harcourt, Ibadan,Lagos etc and that Nigeria will crumble economically without them whereas, available data from SEC,NSE,NBS,Lagos chamber of commerce etc did not suggest anything like that. 2 Likes |

please let us stop twisting history. The Unitary decree by Ironsi centralised the civil service similar to the command structure of the military. Ironsi didn't split the regions the regional governors were still there, it was Gowon that split regions to states abd centralised revenue sharing. please read your history and leave the man to rest in peace. 1 Like |

OROSUNBOLB: Do you know that there was a petition by the Yoruba intelligentsia to Ironsi urging Ironsi to spare the coup plotters because their act saved the western region from the crisis. i am not saying that killing people is justified on the contrary killing people to change a government is wrong but saying that their actions were tribalistic is false because an igbo colonel a quartermaster Col Unegbe was killed in that coup but propaganda spinners would hide that fact to make it seem like it was an igbo coup. Can you guess the people that signed the petition? Wole Soyinka, Dr Femi Ayantuga and co 1 Like |

johntolu: That lie has been allowed to stand for years. the truth was the condition the british gave for independence was that Nigeria's colonial borders must remain intact and that it would not be altered by any region whatsoever. Hence Zik and Awo were arm twisted to accommodate the north and the British had designed the 1959 elections to prevent a hung parliament even though NPC had majority seats the couldn't form a government and the british in preventing an NCNC/AG coalition blocked out AG and facilitated a coalition between the parties that had high votes NCNC/NPC. You need to take a non biased approach toward analysing Nigeria's history to really understand how the British rigged everything and put us where we are. it was not the igbos it was the british that was why in the 64 elections NCNC and AG entered an alliance which made NPC use akintola's faction UPGA to instigate crisis in the western region and that led to the coup. |

Deadlytruth: Bros you are a pathetic liar. How did Zik scatter NYM in 1938 when he just came back from the US at that time and established the West African pilot. Zik was even the Secretary of NCNC under Herbert Macaulay. Ahhhhhh!!!!!! you people should fear God with your lies. Zik introduced the non-secession clause because he was arm twisted to do so. Mind you the British point was clear do not split Nigeria beyond the borders created from the amalgamation or you get no independence, and the founding fathers Awo inclusive didn't want bloodshed even though Awo suggested it. Where Awo is blamed was the Biafra impasse was a perfect opportunity to declare the western region's neutrality and as such force Gowon to accept Aburi accord which would have made the West amd Eastern regions go far ahead that what we have now. But he changed tune the moment he was made finance minister (with the hopes of becoming head of state). That was the last opportunity for the south to speak with one voice. That is why it is easy for the north to hold power because they simply bait one prominent southern politician and it is game over. case of Tinubu comes to mind 1 Like |

johntolu: Bros go and read more about the politics in the eastern region. Zik didn't just go there to remove Eyo Ita. Rather in the Eastern house of assembly Eyo Ita and Mbonu Ojike in a bid to remove the leadership of NCNC in the east from Zik, sponsored a plan to pass a vote of no confidence on Zik because of the activities of the Eastern region financial Corporation which was the fore runner of ACB the panel of inquiry had not submitted their findings and already Eyo Ita had positioned K.O Mbadiwe as the new party leader and premier, so when the panel summarily cleared Zik and the house of assembly passed a vote of confidence on Zik. He had to do what a sensible person would do and that is remove those who wanted to stab you at the back that was why he removed Eyo Ita as governor and Mbonu Ojike as finance minister of the Eastern region. Again those that want spread lies would hide the fact that the man that replaced Ojike as the Finance minister in the Eastern region was Dr Imoke(Liyel Imoke's father), but it is always convenient to say that Zik removed Eyo Ita because he is a tribalist. 1 Like |
