Senate President, Dr. Ahmed Lawan has said irrespective of religious and political persuasions, Nigeria has continued to remain a united and indivisible entity. He said this on Sunday in Igbere, Bende local government area of Abia State during the 10th year Memoriam of Late Chief Johnson Uzor Nesiegbe Kalu, father of Senate Chief Whip, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, ABN TV reports. According to Lawan, the creme of people who graced the occasion is a testimony that there is unity among Nigerians. "Regardless of our political and religious persuasions, we are attending a function that all of us believe is so important. Abia state is a home of unity. "We have seen the presence of the Minority Leader of the Senate, our brother Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia South), Sen. T.A Orji (Abia Central). These are people who belong to different political parties. So this kind of environment is not a political environment but the people's environment. "The governor of Enugu state, my brother Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has been here since in solidarity for this family and this is what unity can achieve for us. "Today, tomorrow, and indeed forever, we can achieve greater, we can achieve more when we are united. Nigeria is designed by the grace of God to be a nation of many people, different orientations, different sentiments but must be a people that have a common purpose and common destiny. This is what we want to achieve at all times" he said. While extolling Late Chief Johnson Uzor Nesiegbe Kalu for raising his children to be responsible members of society, the Senate President urged Nigerians to continue to advance the unity of the country by pursuing a common agenda of being at the center of Nigeria. He also added that Nigeria needs the effort of everyone to move forward, maintaining that there is strength in unity. Metrix147:The amiable senate President of the federal republic of Nigeria has spoken very well and indeed that's what we good people of Nigeria have seen in display today at Orji Uzo Kalus residence. Nigeria is indeed blessed but people of dark soul will die to see Nigeria scattered because it benefits the Southwest. Ouk is a unifying force to reckon with. |
