Sunday Adakola Ada, the Nigeria Civil Defense and Security Corps (NSCDC) personnel who was arrested for killing two young carnival goers in Otukpo area of Benue state, has narrated how the incident happened, IgbereTV reports.

The security operative who was being interrogated by policemen, said he was only trying to warm the air and didn't see anyone when he shot into the air. He added that it wasn't intentional.

Ada further disclosed that he was initially told that one person died while another was injured, but two people died after the shooting incident.

The idiots that are entrusted with guns can't cease to amaze men. Look at even NSCDC flexing muscles on unarmed citizens.

Give a man a rifle and he automatically thinks he is above the law. We have a very long way to go in this country.

I told them the issue is not a police issue but a Nigerian issue, they said I was supporting the police. Not until we change our mindset, proper and continuous training be given to armed men, funds allocation for their welfare and other things be put in place, we will keep seeing such nonsense.
