Many say there is no such name as 'Obasanjo' in the Yoruba language, lending credence to the allegation that the former two-time president of Nigeria is in fact, an Igbo man.

Could it be that the reason 'Obasanjo' is a non-existent name in Yorubaland is in fact because, it is an IGBO name?

Is the real meaning and spelling of that name Ogbasa-njo (Destroyer of evil), likely an archaic Igbo name associated with brave men, titled men, and warriors?
