Hotel Refuses Heartland Team Exit From Katsina Over Debt by Doraty1(op): 12:27pm On Dec 29, 2020
The entire Heartland football club have been denied exit from their hotel base in Katsina day after playing their first 2020/21 season match of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) versus Katsina United.

A football official who disclosed this on Tuesday morning, and preferred to lie low wrote on whatsapp, social media platform, “Heartland fc have been held at their hotel (Fadama view hotel) here in Katsina after owing the hotel management.”

The current incident is happening after the management of the Imo state-owned football team owed players and officials months of salary.

As at the time of filing this report, the club was yet to make any official statement.

Heartland had lost opening day NPFL game 3-2 in Katsina.

All sorts of abnormal things happen in Nigeria league undecided when the players are not going on hunger strike to demand for their pay, they are been locked inside the hotel for owing hotel fees.

The other day it was FC Taraba players that had to sleep outside the government house gate as a form of protest to make their grievances known to government about the backlogs of salaries been owed to them

This embarrassment is just too much. The other day a club used night bus and were traveling to another state for match only for them to be robbed. Now this...

If the NFF can no longer successfully manage the league, they should just scrap it. Let's know that we don't have a football league in Nigeria.

Mehn this Nigeria football clubs dey try o. Traveling all the way from Imo state to Katsina by road. And their next fixture maybe Ogun.

Every week on a long journey on the road. And with all the instability in the north, they still have to drive through
