This is the kind of attacks you make when you know someone is saying the truth, you don't like the truth he is saying and you can't dispute his logic so you resort to cheap attacks. If what he is saying is not the truth then tell us how he is wrong. Resorting to these kind of childishly cheap attacks shows you have no reasonable counter argument to what he is saying.

If Pilate did not want to kill Jesus, he could have freed him. Israel was not a democracy- the opinion of the crowd did not matter one jot. Herod could not kill Jesus not because he didn't want to but because he had no authority to kill people for blasphemy since Rome and not Israel was in control of the territory. For Rome to kill Jesus he must be a threat to Caesar. Both Herod and Pilate picked up on the Kingship of Jesus as treason in order to advance their interests
A) remove a threat to religious authorities
B) remove the liklihood unrest, Caesars interference = Pilates recall or demotion.

By the way Tunde Bakare was simply making the point that alliances between religion and politics over a person they both hate will lead to the death of the person. He was not saying it had to be a Herod and a Pilate in person.

This is why the church should stay clear of politics. Bakare should not have made political points in church. Reno on his part has always been a right wing evangelical politician.
