Please, let them gloat for now...

Anyone with just 2 points off first position and a game in hand is a genuine title contender.

Besides, let's even be honest... Is there any team they can't actually beat right now?!!

Okay... Same way you must have been certain that Liverpool couldn't lose to Villa (They lost in one of the most embarrassing manners with a full squad to boot), or that Liverpool could never drop points to relegation-destined West Bromich (Who got smashed to pieces by a less worthy Leeds), etc...

Everyone is beatable sir. United can easily be desecrated by Liverpool in Anfield. In the same vein, United is as capable to do the desecration of Anfield too.

If by this time, you still think Liverpool and United are the same teams they were last season, then you really need to watch football more closely. grin

Extra time was for both teams to continue playing. BTW wolves players wasted time playing for a draw, their goalie was even booked for time wasting.

Can you name those teams you refer to as top teams? I think we are left with only Liverpool to play from the top 5.

There's no doubt man utd has so much improved as compared to last season. But the way they keep stressing on the issue of being title contenders is what baffles me.
Just so you know; the difference between man u who are currently in second and Southampton who are in ninth position is just 4 points , so a single loss by man utd anytime soon could see them drift from being tittle Contenders to a team striving to finish in top 4. In a nutshell i think it's still too early to discuss abt them being a tittle Contender. i could vividly remember how Chelsea and Tottenham fans were all over Nairaland being so assertive abt how they could win the league, but where are they now ?

Do you even understand what the term "Title Contender" means or fully implies??!... At game 16, it is becoming a bit safe to start seeing teams who genuinely have what it takes to mount a solid bid for the esteemed title.

Of course, it is early, but not out of place to see or point out those on track.... In this case or unique season of ups and downs, the first 6 teams are very much within bordering distance of the title.... It will very much likely be a close call, seeing the way most teams are dropping points weekly, including the main favorites (Liverpool). So, it is very much open to at least 5 teams... That was why last night's win was quite emphatic, timely, reassuring and highly vital to United (With almost every top teams dropping points).

So, United are very much in pole position to clinch this title if they maintain this form, vision, consistency, and run!!! It is quite simple na.

Just Liverpool left for only the first round of matches. Lost to Arsenal through a questionable penalty and go Spurs after going a man down. But all these teams are below United in the tabl. That tells a lot.

Title contenders is not the exclusive reserve of one team. There are many contenders. United team is one of them, whether you like it or not.

I was agreeing with you until I saw "Shaw". As hard as it may sound, Shaw is a better left back than Telles. Shaw is way better defensively. Telles only beats Shaw in the front (ability to drive forward and make good crosses). Watch both of them critically and you'll see...
Shaw is better than Telles driving forward and progressing with the Ball. Shaw gives Rashford an outside option when he cuts inside. Telles cannot time or make runs.

Telles only has better crosses. No more no less
