This pandemic has made things really hard,I started doing some research and came to this decison,i want to learn freight forwarding(clearing and forwarding)i am a fast learner,i pay attention to detail and also can drive if thatsa plus and I know major parts in lagos but I don't know anyone that does clearing and forwarding personally. Please any Form of assistance will be appreciated.Thanks as I await well meaning nairalanders

You want to learn clearing and forwarding and you are a 'fast learner'? I laugh in Tin Can road!!

You will use the first 6 months buying amala for the agent, the second 6months going to queue at the ATMs to withdraw money and photocopy documents. The second year is for going to Marble House to join hundreds of other agents to battle for print at destination. You will also use this time to learn the intricacies of 'punching' duty payments at the bank, escorting containers to their destination, as well as offloading container at the terminal yards. You will also be a driver, delivering RORO vehicles. This is tricky because you must be able to drive like a fayawo (smuggler) in order to avoid those idiotic, thieving, they-will-not-die-well custom officers on the road. Use this time to start making contacts with other agents, their apprentices like you, importers and their custom contacts.

In about three years you will be ready for the real clearing agent work.
